I'm sorry you've had that experience. Please don't lump us all in that category-I've had the opportunity to answer questions of young persons, and always with respect. I feel, at least for the questions I've answered, they were asked in earnest and deserved the best response I could give. It is a pleasure to be able to help others, and especially to help to guide young people who are eager to learn. Don't give up!

I don't know , it's not a very adult thing to say. In the wording of your question you actually supplied part of the answer. Just because someone is big or old or all grown does make them an adult, it just makes them big ,old and grown
Guys take forever to become adults-some never do.
So what's it like being an adult ? Scary -because you are responsible for you're own successes and.failures. Scary because often you're responsible for other peoples lives. Fun because you get to chose how you will live your life and with whom. Liberating - when you feel comfortable enough in your own skin to make the right but maybe not the most popular DECISION.
Confident, because you know what you're doing ,you have been there and done that . Sad , because the price you paid is the loss of the wide -eyed wonder of your youth, which you will never get back.
Does that answer your question ?

Because they know it all. Being an adult means among other things: Adults get to work to make a living. Not just enough to get by for the day or week but to look for a secure retirement when the get old. Many take that part too seriously and do not make time to intermix fun while some adults play too much and then when a small disaster befalls them they look for others who planned better to give them a hand out - more often than not. Adults are faced with decisions that they must live with everyday. Responsible ones don't retreat to their room and shut it all out. They also get to make decisions for their kids and discipline them. They get to support thier kids. Adults can have sex legally (in most cases) and drink alcohol. They can earn a drivers license. They get to pay taxes to their local, state and federal government. They get to vote and can be on jury duty in a court of law. They are responsible for their own actions and may be sued in court. Doesn't that sound fun.

Ok I am 74 I guess that is a grown people or is that an overgrown "people"? I do not insult young people, I am betting on them to make the world a better place than we did. I am hoping that you will enjoy being an adult. I have to admit that sometimes I did not like it at all and wanted to get back to being a little girl without problems. Life is not going to give me that chance again so I learned to dig my heels in the dirt and do what needed to be done. Good luck to you. Do not claim as your "own" any nasty remarks in this site. Let it roll off your back. That is what adults learn to do...sometimes.

I'm an adult and I wouldn't insult you here or in person and I don't accept being insulted either. If you want to know what it's like being an adult, I would say it would be having the ability to take on responsibilities like marriage and children and being able to deal with problems in an adult manner. I like young people and think most like me too. Good luck to you.

I'm 37 and sometimes I feel 16. I don't think it feels a whole lot different; you'll take days as they come and you'll just have a larger memory of experiences to enjoy and share with others.
I guess maybe people may answer like that because it's kinda...um...
Ok. What was it like to be in Preschool? It felt like that's where you belonged at the time, right?
As you got a little older, you learned to read and do math and stuff, and did age appropriate things. Did it feel that much different?
Now, I'm guessing you're a teen or a preteen who is looking forward to all the possibilities that you have ahead of you. That's great! And hopefully you'll find your nich and you'll always feel like you, no matter what your age.

I don't know, but I apologize for them- to tell you the truth, they don't sound like they're really grown-ups at all do they?
Being grown-up myself (and way beyond) I feel honored to answer the questions of young people. I would like for you and any other young people out there to benefit from my years of experience. No sense in you having to go through the same trials that I did, if you can learn from my expereience.
Ask away- all you want. ok?

you were askin the wrong peeps. now i've not looked at their response, i came immediately to answer. don't let jerkoffs hurt you with words. what it's like to be an adult is you have to put up with jerks that will insult ya. and they not nessesarily adults them selves.
maybe you got a super-zen learning experience from askin the question. ( i haven't chked ? yet.). take it from me ( i'm prolly yr grandaddies age) life is like it is.. if it wasn't that way, everything would be different, but it's not so ...................things are like they are. that's all u are young, u will learn. u will learn or u'll be crushed. my advise,. as if you seek it, is simply, go with the flow. but don't violate yr core principals. develope yrself a good moral code and live it. believe in things that matter.don't believe in illusion.

Some people on here are just plain rude. Not all of us adults are..
One thing that you get, most adults get with age, is wisdom and you never stop learning, even once you're out of school....

hard to tell age, but easy to be insulting. Some "adults" are jerks, just like some kids are.
You are raised by adults, taught by adults and around adults, so you can answer your own question. If you were raised by wolves, that's another story.
