Answer if you are a lefty baseball player 12 years or older. I been very good 2nd baseman in Little League playing lefty, but I been playing bad defence because the field is bigger and a lefty can not play 2nd on a bigger field. So where should I play?

I have never played picther, cather or 1st base. I've taken warmups at 3rd, player 2 innings of SS and played a lot of outfield before 2nd base

Lefties suck at infield, if u want to play and be successful make the switch to outfield. i have been playing outfield for 2 years and i absolutely love it, as u get older more balls will be hit into the outfield, there is no better feeling in baseball then making a diving catch...Have fun kid

Left-handed pitchers are like gold. Even if you think you suck, find an adult that can coach you in pitching. You CAN get better. Practice, practice, practice. Many field positions are absolutely no-no's for lefties. The only ones that work are 1st base and the outfield. The other infield positions cause you to shift your body position in order to make an accurate throw to 1st. Catching is out mainly because of the difficulty in throwing to 1st and 2nd and because it's better to have your mitt on your left hand when blocking the plate against a runner.

I'm not a lefty, but:
I would reccomend moving to RF - you stay on the same side of the field, see the ball off the bat the same way, but you can easily play there lefty.
If you have lots of talent and have serious major league aspirations, definitely take up pitching - the one commodity always needed in MLB is a lefty specialist...

I you can pitch that would be the way to go. Lefty pitchers are very valuable. They pitch for ever in the majors. Also you could try first base or the outfield. As a left myself I think you could also catch. Good find a left handed Cather's mit though.

I'm not a lefty myself but played baseball for over a decade. You could play in the outfield, first base or pitch. Avoid 2nd, shortstop or 3rd. Sorry but the field just isn't designed for lefties defensively. It's harder for a left-handed thrid baseman to field a bunt, for example, you'd have to field it cleanly and then square around to make the throw, right handers can just make the play in one motion. I have done that play myself, it's just easier for us righties even second base is harder. You have farther to reach when you need to make a tag at second for a throw from the plate and fielding could be awkward.
Haha, but yeah if you have a strong arm: pitch, pitch, pitch. I have had to bat against lefties who had cannons (80 mph plus at the age of 14 and they were my worst nightmare). I hope that helped.

You should try 1st base. I am lefty and play 1st base. Last year my team was in such a hole that I had to play SS. I also played 3rd one year. I would say 1st, 3rd, or outfield. You could play catcher i did one game but do what you want, after all this is just advice.

If you are left handed and do not want to play in the outfield, 1st base would be a good fit for you. If you can field a ground ball at 2nd you can field a ground ball at 1st. Its a fun position and you get alot of action over there. I love 1st base.

first base is a good choice, but i would stay with second. i myself played secon base as a lefty, and yes it's hard on the larger fields, you just need to work on you range to your right, and once you have good range, you can cheat to the left and really cover the middle well.
Besides, as fun as first base is, if you're a natural at second, it's not something that should be played with. just try to move left and have someone hit balls up the middle till you get used to moving that way alot, and you'll be an all-star in no time. or maybe just suck, but it's worth the try

A lot of lefties are well suited for 1st base and the outfield and of course pitching.
