I use it because its a good place to get answers without being solicited to buy things, like the other day I searched on how to find cheap airline tickets... try googleing a question like that, and all you get are adverts.
I booked a flight for $254, thanks to Yahoo Answers, the same flight would have cost me nearly $1,534 if I followed the links from a searh engine.
Its a good forum where you can get a cross section of answers, granted a lot of answers are garbage, but once in a while you will get some good advice... Also, it feels good to lend someone helpful advice on a subject that you know a lot about.
