Usually and they get the darkest toward the end of pregnancy. The theory is since babies can't see very well at birth, the nipple and areola darken and act as a bulls eye so the baby can find it for nursing. I know that sounds funny, but that's what the lactation specialist told me.

i'm on my 2d being pregnant and both cases my nipples have darkened appreciably. After delivery, they'll relax back. that is all hormonal and under no circumstances some thing to pressure about! (through the way, however my person call says "Nate R" i'm lady. that is my husband.)

I have had 4 kids and mine did with every pregnancy! They lightened a little way after birth. It is just like getting the line down the middle of your belly while pregnant.

No not always everyone is different. I have had two children and mine never did. But in the women that it did it was closer to like the 7 month mark..

yes they do darken mine became almost black...just kidding they did get awfully dark though, I think its a way of mother nature helping the baby find the breast easier in order to suckle and breastfeed.

heck yes and the hurt too. but it start about the end of your first trimester. And for when your nipples become sore just try to wear a sports bra with your regular bra for less movement.
