well i will introduce you to the hebrew tree of life. it has ten sephiroth (dots) and with these 10 dots are 22 connecting lines (22 major arcana cards and 22 hebrew letters) then you will see that like i do that the start of tarot is obviously some sort of flash card system for studying qabala. qabala is more then a mystical approach developed by hebrews i believe it comes before hebrews. qabala is quite literally a methodical approach to become totally one in spirit with the moment of now. a system if used correctly would balance out your energy, it would eradicate the ego voice in you. the tree of life is also a excellent filing system that fits all your experiences into it like tarot does. pagan festivals are based on the sun and not tarot. although some aspects of tarot can be and were used time to time. the pagan holiday is based on a 45 day basis. nearly or thereabouts a holiday was 45 days from one another. so there were 8 different holidays in the course of a year. starting in october with samhain (pronounced sow en) on october 31st was the day of new transformations, so in a way it best described the death card. it was considered much as the new years is today with the exception that much of the celebrations was done with the ancients in mind. next is Yule. december 20th (depending on the longest night) this celebration was to restart the sun getting warmer and yule logs were burned. next was imbolg or candlemas on or near feb 2 this celebrated that the winter was nearly over and spring was soon coming. next was ostara in or around march 21st this was the beginning of spring and rituals of fertility using rabbits and eggs were used to replenish the stores of foods used up over the long winter. next was beltaine which is another spring rite that equates to may day. may pole dances were fashioned from magick gathering dances sending energy along a ribbon tied to a pole. the patterns made by many ribbons would be divined or read by the local matriarch. then after beltaine was litha or high summer on or around june 22. this is the opposite of yule this is the longest day. then is lughnassa or lughnasadh which is the beginning of harvest. then mabon on or around sep 21. mabon is final harvest and spicing or storing for the long winter months coming. then back to samhain on october 31st.


to go on to the rest of the question put to me i would answer that the wheel of the year goes as such winter would be north and the element earth(cold and dry) spring would be air and east (warm and moist) summer would be south and fire (warm and dry) and fall would be water and west (cold and moist)

Atziluth which is the tree of primordial fire and this is the suit of wands
Briah which is the tree of primoridial water and this is the suit of cups
Yetzirah is the tree of primordial air and this is the suit of swords

Assiah is the tree of primordial earth and this is the suit of pentacles

The major arcana is represetative of the journey of the Fool. He starts out taking a step into the unknown. Through each of the cards in succession he grows in wisdom, strength and spirit. It is a spiritual journey. The minor arcana repersent the different elements and their transition into the wheel of the year, pentacles=earth, swords=fire, cups=water and wands=air. Pagan festivals were never based on the tarot rather the seasonal change. The tarot was made later to represent such. To truely know the full information one must know what the first deck contained. It may of been just the major arcana or just the minor. We don't know. Plus which each card means one thing to one person and another to someone else.

Not to mention that not all tarot cards are the same. I use the dragon tarot, its symbolism is different than the rider/whaite deck or the Robin wood tarot deck.

I think I get what you are asking here, and I think that some of the answerer's may have got a little off track and so may I but, if I'm understanding all that you are writing, and what you are simply asking, "What are the mythical implications, per card"?

I may be getting off base here as well, but to answer that would take one savvy individual. YEARS of studying.
First of all......jeez, I mean even if you confined yourself to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, you have the "interpretations" of perhaps the most famous, is the Waite/Smith deck, both were members of the secret order of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

But, I've been studying paganism all of my adult life and been pagan for all of it and have never in all my readings/encounters known of pagan festivals celebrated according to Tarot. The decks themselves however, could very well be designed FROM paganistic histories. I would love to know. I'm not a tarot practitioner however.....but in my opinion, good luck researching it.

Okay so it depends on what kind of deck you have... The major Arcana is based on the four elements, and the circle of life... Birth and Death... The minor arcana cards deal with materialistic things like money, wealth, fortune, success... where as the major deals with your inner self being.. Like health, paternity, death, and your overall well being.. It is categorized by different cards having different meanings.. It also matters what kind of spread you are doing?? Or what your asking.. I'm not sure what the original myth was behind
tarot. Most who design decks use myhts that mean something to them so each deck the cards meaning will be slightly different. I use the cards to see paths the meanings of each card really is not important to what I see. I use the persons interruption of meaning when I mediate on them

Major Arcadia?!

They are called the Major and Minor Arcana.
The Major Arcana depcits the circle of life. Starting with the Fool, a young and naive person, it ends with the World, the end of all things.
The Minor Arcana represent things in everyday life such as material concerns, relationships, money and things like that.
The face cards, the ones specifically with people on them (Kings, Queens, Knights, Pages) all represent people in the Questioners life.

How were the Pagan holidays celebrated according to the Tarot cards? umm, not quite sure what you are looking for here. The Pagan holidays were not built around nor celebrated around the Tarot. The Tarot has been a divination tool, not just one specific religious belief oriented. Many other beliefs used Tarot. Though they might not have called it such.
Some people read cards with just symbols on them, like circles, squares, squiggly lines. Some people read normal playing cards.

The God is has grown into a teenager and gone through puberty.

Beltane April 30 - This holiday is in celebration of the Goddess being pregnant and of fertility. This is a time for vitality and passion. Get your friend and family together and have a celebration of this time of year! Consider a May Pole. Mothers and Daughters, braid each other's hair. Be as natural as you can. If you celebrate by yourself, consider having some fresh green plants around your home. Go for walks through nature and soak in her beauty.

Mabon (Autumn Equinox) September 21 - Time for celebration of a successful harvest. Indulge yourself, wear your finest and dine on the finest. This is a time to look at what we have in life and be grateful for it. Some colors to use at Mabon on are red, maroon, orange, brown and gold.
