Could something like this really happen? Are there civilizations so advanced they could get here and take over?

I have watched this movie hundreds of times, it is a great movie.
I think It could happen. not soon but sometime.
I think thats why they make movies like this to keep us all guessing and wonder what is out there.

Aliens can't possibly invade my friend. Why? We are the only intellegent life.

For instance, there is no air or anything on mercury. On venus, you would have to survive temperatures ayt about 900F and pressures 90x greater than on earth. Mars, We have completely found no intelectual life. Jupitur, its a cloud of gas like saturn, Uranus, And Neptune. So, if where was life, it would be unlike weve ever seen. Pluto has an atmosphere frozen on the ground almost all of its over 200 year orbit.

Outside the solar system, we have no found any planets that are gas giants fo0r about 9000 lightyears, were we hsave found 1 icy earth. Otherwise, the only out of solar system planets we found are "hot jupiturs," that is, a planet over 2x the size of jupitur with an average temp. of 1300F.

We might find some blimp-like and gliding creatures within the coulds of a gas giant, some thing skating on the ice, or bacteria on certain planets, but no intellegent life for almost forever.

From a purely scientific standpoint, it is not impossible for Earth to be visited by intellgent extra-terrestrial life forms, however if the only way to get here is directly, that is, traversing space from point A to point B, then it'd take a very long time...probably over a century.

If, on the other hand, there is another way to go, (perhaps they understand more about the universe than we do) then, sure, why not?

No one knows if there are aliens on other planets or not... but I could imagine if their were then they could try to take over the world. But God says nothing about aliens, and the only thing thats going to happen is Christ returning so I doubt aliens are going to invade anytime...

Signs is a retarded movie, aliens come to a planet filled with like 70% water and later we find out the aliens are allergic to it. Yet they could master space-travel.

The Aliens in Signs never took over, they visited and they got their butt kicked by water (even though the Earth is covered in it, and water is in our air existing as a gas).

One can only think that aliens can take over only if one believes in other intellegent life in the universe.

Yes it could happen to us very easily.I have seen their ships many times. They live amongst us and are learning our ways of life, languages, mannerisms, likes and dislikes. They will cross breed with us and produce a new species of human alien hibrid.

doubt it. It's just a move. Though it's a good movie with a lot of good theological concepts too.
