Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. It is a very well-written book, he doesn't put anything in the story not essential to the development, the detail is vivid, the characters each are individuals and realistic, there are dangers for young Jim around corner, it's downright entertaining...I could go on and on...
I've read the full version once two or three times and the abridged version once, had it read to me by a teacher, and seen the movie once.
Another favorite is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. The book is even better than the movie. Not only does she make science interesting and horrifying at the same time, but she makes the reader feel the monster is the one who is wronged and that Dr. Frankenstein (actually the doctor and not the monster) is the evil one. Way ahead of her time here. I've read it twice and the abridged version once.

my favorite book is tris's book in the the circle of magic books in the quartet which are my favorite. they are by tamora pierce. her other quartets are the song of the lioness, immortals, protector of the small, and circle opens. her other books are the trickster's choice, trickster's queen, and the will off the emperess. these books are my favorite because they relate to kids trying to control the magic they never knew about or girls secretly trying to be knights and spies and great wizards. if you are a boy i am truly sorry but this is a girl book, though it may interest you. for girls, well you need to be a teen to read it because you may think that kissing is ewwwy.

Many books actually, but if I'm gonna choose...I must say " 11 minutes" for paulo coelho, it's really nice....discussing the theme love & sex..in a new intellectual way, u get into thinking...and u r driven into new philosphy...there is a great point in it. I love that book, even though I think I missed the exact point.

Count of Montecristo by Alexander Dumas. Its about a young French sailor who was unjustly imprisoned for 14 years before he escapes and ultimately takes revenge on his enemies. The author did a great job describing the emotions of the prisoner.Disbelief, denial, self pity, madness, apathy and finally hope.

Season of Passage by Christopher Pike. It's my favorite because it's the single scariest book I've ever read. Pike's also my favorite author. I also love The Taking (Dean Koontz) because it's my favorite alien theory ever.

Jane Eyre...I think that I felt like such a lonely, ungly duckling when I first read it (10 or 11 years old) that I could really relate to Jane. In fact, I feel the same way today :)

I have read and loved many books, but my all-time favorite must remain Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. I have reread it many times and seem to always find something new.
