If you are familiar with Chico, what would you say? Is it a decent place to live? How's the weather?

CA seams to socialist to me, to many laws that are against the constitution for my tastes.

Used to live in California. I personally don't care for it. Chico is a collage town. If you are looking for a good dating scene I'd say go for it. If you are married move out here to good 'ol Wisconsin. In Chico, in the summer time the weather is 100 to 115. If you don't mind tagging in your area, fine. There is no middle class, only high class and no class. The low class rip's off the high class. I hope you don't have children if you do plan to move there because it will be difficult to raise them with good moral fiber if they are easily persuaded. Move there, and give it a year and you will hate it too. California motto;..Come on vacation, leave on probation!
