Where does the little bitty ears of corn (found in chinese food) really come from?

Actually how are they grown or harvested??? Are they planted to grow that teeny or are they just immature ears of regular corn???

Well, since they're called "baby corn," I just assumed they're harvested before they grow into regular-size ears.

they come from the corn nursery.
