DSL is faster then the old dial up that many people still have. Although DSL is not as fast as the Broadband Cable. With the Dial up it says it's a 56K dial up but when do you ever see that. Usually it is 45-53K. At times Dial up is even more expensive than DSL. With DSL you get a minimum I think 768K and with Broadband Cable you can find some from 6G-8G. You should do a comparison based on speeds and cost and see what is best for you.

Residential (no longer an similar upload as acquire. upload speeds a lot lower than indexed.) Dialup (even "NetZero"): 56k Cable: 8 Mbps to twelve Mbps (quickly to be 50Mbps to at least one hundred Mbps) FIOS/quick: 15 Mbps to 50 Mbps commercial (upload + acquire speeds equivalent.) T1: a million.5 Mbps DS3: 40 5 Mbps and then each and each of the Optical companies (OC-3, OC-12, etc). Optical companies are made from numerous STS-a million alerts, that are each and each equivalent to a DS3. (a million STS-a million = a million DS3) An OC-3 is made from (3) STS-a million's, and for this reason is 3x45 Mbps = 100 thirty 5 Mbps OC-12 = 12 STS-a million's = 540 Mbps

Yes it is; although not the fastest, but you can surf at the speed of 500 kbps. Only connection faster then this is T1 or T2 but they are too expensive and not worth unless you need a really fast network and plus you will need fibre optic to support them properly.

Yes I've had it. Know that you have to do a 1yr contract. I think it's for $19.99, once the contract is over the rate goes up.
