Two females should be fine together. Two males may fight once they mature and of course, a male and female will multiply.

I read in a book that guinea pigs are social creatures and need lots of attention or a friend. So yes you can. But they should be of the same sex or you may end up with a litter of them. But just to be sure ask your pet store clerk.

Guinea pigs are very social animals and really should never be kept alone. I had two female guinea pigs never had any trouble.

Yeah, they're cool. Especially if you want three guinea pigs. They're hard to sex. Once as kids, mom bought us a pig, we named her Guinevere, or something like that. She lived in her 20 gallon aquarium quite happily. Then one morning we woke up to two pigs! We'd unwittingly bought a pregnant mom. The newborns are birthed ready to go! What a hilarious site it was. One big one and one little one. We couldn't believe our eyes.

Most adults are solitary creatures, and don't like other guinea pigs in the same cage.

If they are both females. It shouldn't really matter. They aren't usually too territorial. But if you try it out and they don't get along take one of them out immediately. They can seriously do some damage to each other. Usually a female would be more oppossed to a guy though. So try it out and see if they get along and if they don't then just separate them.

If they are females then I wouldn't worry bout it. But if it were two males, then I would say don't.
