On an application, it says they check background. Job was at least one year ago. I really had no responsibilities and felt the fast-food place I worked at was unsanitary and under bad management - which is why I didn't show up after a couple of days, how would I explain this on an application?

No you do not have to mention the job, however if in the background check they run your social security statement for earnings they will find out that you worked there. They rarely run social security statement checks.

Normally you should have a resume regardless of your work experience before you go to put your application in. This would show that you are well prepared with the dates necessary and reference list.
You should not list a job unless you worked at it three months or longer and you only list in decending order the three most recent jobs starting with the last one worked. Be sure to give starting date and ending date, job title and known skills. Also, be willing to explain, if asked, about gap periods in employment. There are many websites to help you prepare a proper resume.

You should not disclose this on your resume or application. It is highly unlikely that anyone is going to be doing that extensive a background check and if the company you applied to is truly interested in hiring you and it arises during an interview - you can explain why you left. By they way, it is always wise to give 2 weeks notice rather than failing to appear for a job. If you truly cannot continue to work there one more day - the mature thing to do is make a telephone call and tell them why you will not be returning to work.

If you really want to work then be honest. By honest I mean not only on application but with yourself as well. Under reason you left your last job put " would like to explain in person." This may not only get you an interview but will give you a chance to explain the circumstance around your leaving that job. But you must be sincere. Good luck.

Definitely just leave that job off of the application. It will only allow the new employer to check up on you at that job interview. They will think that sounds irresponsibel and most likely would not hire you.

In any job application there refering "experiance" as to what you learned, if this job didnt give you any type of guide or material to go off of therfore you gained no kind of experiance from it, there would be no need to put it in a job application unless you want to try a different approach then you could just put it as unstationary distribution of essential products, that could work

I wouldn't list it but I would tell the employer, or add a note to the application. A good place to get sound advice on how to handle things like this is by calling your local employment office. Remember, they WANT you to get the job!

So NOT put this on your application. There is no reference here and it only makes you look bad that it was such a short stay. You want to look your BEST on your resume or application. ALWAYS....
