You know, kids these days are fast developing an inferiority complex because of the media that they are exposed to. All that we see on tv tells us that we have to be this, we have to be that - society is telling us that how we look is not good enough anymore. That's why a lot of young kids are obsessed with their looks and some even try to have plastic surgery as young as 12 years old because they are not happy with who they are. Which is so WRONG! We should teach our kids that we are beautiful no matter what shape or size we come in, we are beautiful. Life is too short to worry about that not-so-perfect jawline or that not-so-perfect nose. Nobody's perfect, so why are we so worried that we don't look like somebody else? It is so sad that young kids think they are ugly, because they're not. Besides beauty comes from within. That may sound too cliche but it is true. If a person can find his/her true individual worth, thenn he/she will realize that what the world thinks of him/her is not important anymore - because he/she knows his/her own worth and value.

Let us keep the young generation from falling into the trap of eating disorders, inferiority complexes, and peer pressures to look like some thin, emotionally dysfuntional person they see on the covers of most magazines.

Learn to love yourself, you are beautiful - that should be our message to the young people of this generation.

I was ugly when I was growing up and didn't believe in that ugly duckling crap, but I really did come into my own when I got older. People only think they're ugly when they've heard it from someone else. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)

Remember the story about the Ugly Duckling?

A lot of times those stories have other meanings and teach a valuable lesson for all.

If you don't want them to become shallow ignornant fools, and have insecurities of their own when thet get older (there's always going to be someone prettier then you), yes. You shouldn't judge people on their looks alone. Looks fade.

Should they? No. But they think what they are taught. Teach them they are ugly, and that is what they will think. Teach them that they are beautiful, then they will believe it.
