it is all up to what you want to do. My mom had lasik surgery and she can see perfectly. I am thinking about getting lasik when i get older because right now dealing with contacts and glasses isnt that much of a bother to me. So if you do decide to go through with lasik, make sure you look around and find a surgeon that you can trust with your sight, you dont want him to slip and blind you, it wouldnt be good. Good luck making your decision.

LASIK isn't perminant though, just remember that.
I know someone who got it years ago and he became colorblind. I know the technology is a lot better now, but I would still do your research and choose your doctors wisely. Just keep in mind eventually you will need to wear glasses again. Your eyesight won't be as bad, however.

One of the girls I work with recently had it done.

First, shop around. Do NOT go with the cheapest place - your eyes are important and irreplaceable. Do you really want some cut-rate place shining a laser in your eyes?

Second, ask a lot of questions. It's not for everyone. Your vision correction needs have to fall under certain criteria for LASIK to even work for you. Anyone that tells you *everyone* can have LASIK, RUN!

Third, be prepared to spend several days off work, indoors, in sunglasses and with some discomfort. The girl I know who had it done said that after the numbing drops wore off, it felt like someone had dropped ground glass in her eyes, then glued them shut. (Yes, they temporarily glue your eyes shut afterward to allow healing time.)

Well Lasik doesn't promise that your eyesight will be 100% perfect, but if you want to get it then do it.

By the way, you're braver than i am-i always have issues going to the eye doctor.

My vision was so bad in one eye that I was legally blind. I don't know what your vision is or if you have other visual issues, but I felt LASIK was the best investment for my eyes. People get squeamish about the surgical procedure, but it's been around for awhile. Find a surgeon who has performed it a lot and has a huge success rate.

It was the best choice I made. My son and I went for a drive around town - at night. It was soooo coool. Get it you won't regret it if your in the Dallas, Texas area I recommend Dr. William Boothe.

Please make sure to search around before you pick a doc. I have seen the specials on TV for when it goes around. These are ur eyes, make sure that the doc u pick is going to take good care of them. Dont pick someone just because they are cheap.
