This battery will last forever and some huge company offers you a billion dollars for the patent, with the intention of never letting the general public buy the battery. However, you know full well if you sold it privately you will never make anywhere near a billion dollars but it will still be highly lucrative. Do you follow the ethical path (allowing people unlimited access to energy, knowing that only so many batteries can be purchased) or do you let the Big Companies money talk you out of it?

You have an interesting idea. By following the ethical path, you could still be rich beyond your wildest dreams. It's all about what you do with the technology.

Yes, the big company would buy it and bury it.

But, if you could power things like electric cars and such, there would be a small market at first, and it would grow.

So my answer is I would not let "big business" get their mitts on it. I would do research on how to best market it (I like the electric car idea), get some investors and hit the market.

What do I need money for if I have an unlimited power source? If I accomplished that, I would have way more than a billion dollars, because it could make more than just a battery to operate your remote. We could use it on a larger scale and generate power endlessly for the entire planet. Hell, with perpetual power, one could probably even warp space.

What I would do is start my own multi-billion dollar company and swallow up any and all competition. I would be all powerful. I would win the nobel. I would be the most famous man on the planet. One billion dollars can't buy all that, but I would go into hiding, because somebody is bound to have me killed.

The government would want their hands on it, because any nation that had that kind of power could easily destroy the planet. Maybe I would live in a cave under the earth and demand one billion dollars from all the nations, or I will blow up the planet, just like Dr. Evil.

Unfortunately, the input energy must always be greater than the output, due to the laws of entropy. the amount of energy it would require to accomplish this would just be a waste. Antimatter is the key, unfortunately it would cost about 1000 times the gross national product just to produce enough energy to generate one light bulb. Keep dreaming.

Firstly ...your idea ...The Carnot Motion Engine 100% Efficiency without losses is a long gone fantasy
Secondly... The question of morality... Money cant buy the pleasure of making others happy. I would prefer to go into production no matter if I make money in my lifetime or not. Offers come and go the money you have in your pocket is yours... There is no reason to count or cry for the money offered especially which is not for a good cause

i would take the billion dollars flat out. if a company was willing to buy it for that much it would be thiers in a heartbeat. who cares what they do with it after that because i wouldn't be able to spend a billion dollars in my lifetime.

How many volts? How many batteries do I get or can make? I wouldn't let the companies find out, but if they did, I wouldn't (most likely) give them my battery.

Being the first to defy the laws of entropy (ie, the Universe), i'd be proclaimed a supernatural being by the scientists and physicists.
