I have a kit car with mustang II front end. I just put 275 pound spring rate coils in and the existing shocks only provide about 2 inches of travel before they bottom out. Every place I call asks what year and make of car. I know what I need for dimensions. Help

Your local parts supplier should have parts books that give the length, stroke, diameter, and connection point type for both ends.
Also there is a rating on approximate weight they are "tuned" to handle, as well as how "stiff" they operate!

Also is the "bottoming out" in compression, or expansion of shock? . This is called "shopping by application", not by vehicle model !

There are extensions available for lengthening connecting point, - if the nearest length is too short

Have you tried going to your local speed shop pro and ask him for advice or a remedy to your problem. There are plenty of aftermarket shocks made for performance, i am sure he would help you with this problem.
