Okay, pull your chairs up children, its time to learn a lesson about the differences between being a "cutter" and commiting suicide.
Cutting: is when someone cuts themselves with a razorblade, knife, etc to release emotional pain through physical pain. You avoid veins and arteries to prevent death, its also not attention oriented like suicide and suicide attempts. Usually a cutter keeps their problem a secret.
Suicidal cutting: When you slit a main area of condenced veins to produce massive blood loss to result in death.
Hope you learned something.

its harder than it looks on tv! I have never tried to commit suicide this way, but i have cut my wrists many times. I have cut quite deep on a few occasions requiring medical attention. Yet i have never severed anything. Most people dodon'tave the medical knowledge required to get such a thing right. And sometimes it is probably juts a cry for help, they dont actually intend on dying

People who "cut" do it for attention and sensation, they never intend to die. These individuals often cut their arms and legs in areas that are fatty or that the blood vessels are well protected. Obviously someone who cuts their wrist to commit suicide is doing so for the intended prpose of death. Best wishes

Cutting is a coping skill. It is never intended as a suicide gesture or attempt. It is not an act of feeling suicidal.
Some people cut to feel. They may be so numb because they've shut down emotionally so they cut to feel SOMETHING, to remind themselves that they are alive. Some people cut because they feel TOO much and all these emotions are too overwhelming and they do not know how to modulate them so these people cut to release these emotions. They focus on the pain of cutting rather than the emotional pain. And then some people cut for attention or because they are copying somone else's behavior.

Well "cutting" is like a small cut that is non-lethal that basically just bleeds and scars (usually on the arms or legs). I have no idea why people do it but they do. Cutting your wrists cuts into I believe an artery and will kill you or make you come damn close. One is like suicide, one is like a disorder.

"Cutting" and "Cutting your wrists" is practically the same thing.
Cutting to commit suicide is attempting to kill, cutting in general can lead to that but you don't mean to kill yourself-yet.

They both are linked to sever depression only when one cuts their wrist it is because they feel as if they can't go on any longer with their life and with those that just cut that is their way of coping with what ever is going on in their lives. It in a sense numbs them as would a drink do for an alcoholic. Cutting the veins are minor it is the arteries you don't want to cut that is when you will bleed to death.

Cutting to commit suicide is a suicide attempt.
"Cutting" is a form of Self Injury, where the person cuts themselves (but can use countless other methods to hurt themselves) to relieve themselves of a distressing emotion. Above all, Self Injury is a coping method, just like crying or punching a wall. Self Injury can be preformed for any number of reasons but most popular are:
-Sadness
-Anger
-Helplessness
-Frustration
-Self Punishment
The list goes on. Self Injury "works" (in the short term) because it causes the brain to release endorphins, the body's natural painkillers and the 'feel good' hormone. Self Injury is NOT suicide, but Self Injurers are 100 times more likely to commit suicide. It can also become addictive because of the endorphin release. Many people self injure have been abused. Many have not. Girls are more likely to SI than boys are, and SI is usually started in the teenage years.

cutting - a shallow cut in the skin just enough to draw blood
common items are an edge of a blade or the more
popular medium size opened up point of a paper clip.
the paper clip is more popular since you feel more of
the pain as you slowly go though your layer of skin
by rubbing it back & forth (some people will even cut in
names of people that they like or other symbols, etc)
the paper clip is usually not confiscated & you can do
it in class usually on the forarms so it could be hidden
but also on the wrist. it is usually a horizontal cut
across the wrist but, there are several variations &
locations of cutting.
cutting to commit suicide-is usually a cut with a blade across
the wrist horizontaly through a vein to have a quick loss
of blood & die. some people say to cut the wrist
vertically up the arm with a blade is a faster way to go.
hope this helps
p.s. cutting & suicide are not endored by
