I do care about what others think about me and I believe that to be a normal response on the "for real" tip. People who say that they don't care about what others think of them are just fooling themselves because they want people to think they are "hard or Cold" and they act that way so people will really think they are what they claim to be.
As for myself, I try to present myself as being friendly, knowledgeable, sometimes funny and someone not to "mess with". That's the way I want people to see me initially, but as they get to kow me, I allow them to a closer circle...the associte circle. There is even a very close circle where I project other secrets of my character.
We control what others think of us by how we choose to act out life, so I would have to say that everyone cares about what others think of them.

I'm Libran....so balance is crucial to me.....and I wished I could emphatically say that 100% of the time "No I don't care what others think of me because I like myself, admire my character, and know that my actions, words and behavior only create betterment or positiveness." But, I can't ... so definitely at times others' opinions matter none, not so much, and a very lot.

Everyone cares about what someone thinks about them. Maybe not the general public but we all have a group or a certain kind of person that we care about. Anyone who flat out says no, is kidding themselves. Unless of course you never shave anything, really stink and wear the softest ugliest pants ever.

It's a mix, isn't it... there are people I have to make sure don't dislike me, like customers, my boss, my students, so to a certain extent, yes, I do. Do I think everyone has to love me? Nope. Can't be done.
For the most part, actors do want as many people as possible to love them and it carries over to a lot of their lives. I escaped that trap, somehow, but when I am onstage, I care more.

Yes, I want people to like me, but if they don't, I'll get over it. As long as I am being honest and as kind as I can be, I don't care as much what people think, because I know in my heart I'm okay.

I care deeply what my family, colleagues and friends think of me because they know me.
Other people who are just passing acquaintances - no.
They are only in my life for a short time and even though we have talked, it's won't be an in-depth conversation as I would have with the people I care about and who care about me.

Everybody wants to be liked. However, some poeple don't cater for it. In other words they stick to their beliefs, appearence, ect., no matter what people think. These are the people that say "I don't care what anyone thinks" even when they do care. I want people to like me, but not at the expense of changing myself. But I do cater a lot too.

Absolutely! Your personal credibility is important, vital even. You can never be in a leadership position unless you have the respect of others. And, leaders need followers they can trust. You children need to have faith in your love for them....so, no question you must care how others think of you.

Anybody who says they don't are lying. They're usually the ones with a poor opinion of themselves or their lives. Hence, they hide behind 'I don't care what people think'.

Everyone of us cares. We are all hurt when we are slighted. Uh, wish people had been honest with your question. I want you to like me too.
