In the latest edition of the Marvel comic "Civil War" on sale, Spiderman removes his mask to publicly reveal his hidden identity...Peter Parker. How could he do that? I don't see how that is going to work. One of the greatest things about superheroes is that you don't know their secret identity. Who's with me?

I think it was totally unnecessary and a big mistake because it takes away from the fascination I had with Peter Parker keeping two separate lives. It was one of the main concepts that kept me interested in the wall crawler.

It's funny, I too read the Civil War comics going on now, and I was flabbergasted that Spider-Man revealed his identity to the public (although seeing Jamerson fall to the ground behind his desk was funny), and the funny thing is my favorite superhero/comic hero is Iron Man, and he's unforetunately for the Registration Act, which I think shouldn't be passed, because like you say, a superhero needs his/hers secret identity to be a superhero in the first place.

I have not read it yet due to personal time constraints. But I have been a Marvelite for 36 years. It didn't surprise me. I think Joe Quesada has Marvel on the fast train to ruination. Wayback when Peter revealed himself as Spider-Man the reader knew that Stan Lee would straighten it all out in the end. It is terrible shame that Marvel is yet again going to sensationalist measures to sell comics. In the past great art and storytelling alone made Marvel the choice of millions of readers.

It was amarketing stunt just like when they revealed Wovlerines past a couple years ago. They are not creative anymore in comics, they come up with the quick way to draw people in and then let you down once you get there. I new it was coming anf i didn't buy any of the comics. I cheated and bought a wizard. HEHEHEHE !!!! ...they told me this stuff and its cheaper then having to serveral different comics u don't want cus they are tie in s to a story....Like I said the whole comic book world relies on shock vaule that has no substance. which is sad.

Most definitely a publicity/media stunt on the part of Marvel comics. Though I think in the end; they will find a way to re-establish Spiderman back to who he is/was. Civil War is a very good read by the way. I highly recommend it.

Spider-man is awsome and i think that this leap in comics is like superman dying. Nothing can replace the blue and red costume he wears but it would be cool if they recreate spidey in the new suit from now on as the official costume. Maybe one day a new animated series with that new costume and everyone knowing and still having to balance his life. Maybe he can move somewhere and change his looks and become a new spider-man. I would like to see a movie based on this. All i know is that there is a new animated spider-man series coming out but not sure when and what it is about.

LOL, I guess the publishers decided it was time to put that comic to bed. Now that he does not have a secret identity, I'm afraid the story line is going to lose a lot.

I was certainly disappointed in Peter for choosing tony's side. It seems like he's become little more than iron man's pet project. wonder how long before tony gets bored and tries to bed MJ or aunt May for that matter. He's slept with teamates wives before. By theway Cap has become pretty badass during all of this.

Times are a changin and in the Marvel world, it means that Spidey has to reveal himself so he won't be branded a criminal for real. I think that this is going to really change Spidey and make his comics more exciting to read.

His rogues' gallery is a dangerous one and they will be gunning for him wherever he maybe and his wife and aunt are in danger as well.

Well, after all these years, I'm sure it was getting pretty hot and sticky underneath that thing. There's no ventilation in that thing, after all. What I'm wondering is if he's going to revert to something more comfortable to wear, like a sun hat and some Fendi shades.
