Having known a stripper or two as friends, I can tell you that it changes the way you look at people in general. Things start to seem normal and acceptable that you may not have normally approved of, because the sexuality of all of it is ground into you constantly. For instance, one very heterosexual girl who was always really monogamous in her relationships eventually started having group sex and three ways with both sexes, which for awhile seemed great to her long-term boyfriend, but eventually drove them apart. Don't get me started on what it did to their family's relationships to them. Oh, and don't forget, when you're a stripper, you have to stop doing it eventually as time, wrinkles, and cellulite happen, and then you have to go get another job. And the whole time you're in that interview, you're wondering if the possible new boss saw you nekkid and twirling around a pole last week.

from my experience i can say yes...i dated a stripper once.. looking back, i can say that i never took the relationship seriously because i knew in the back of my mind that she wasn't someone that i wanted to marry.

whether of not it can cause problems in a relationship depends on how secure the non stripper is with theirself...as for me, i was the insecure one so i had a problem trusting her...after it was all said and done my intuitions were correct, she was messing around on me!!! some other problems besides trust were my emotions getting really involved when i knew that this was not going to go anywhere.

as far as family goes, i never brought her around my family because i was afraid someone would recognize her from dancing.

you were probably asking for female strippers to answer - but i will answer as a male "exotic" dancer

I work a number of part jobs to pay for college - model, firedancing, personal training, unarmed combat training for servicemen and others and yes also as an exotic dancer (this actually pays the best!)

My family accept this - I need to get the money to educate myself and I support my two younger sister's education as well - i dont think they boast about this part time work but they are not ashamed of me either!!

but yes it can cause relationship problems - I was going out with a really nice girl and told her what I do on the third date - she immediately told me my morals were too low for her and split

sometimes you dont feel like telling a girl you do this line of work because nice girls often "wrongly" judge you by it - I dont sleep with the ladies when I strip - I simply entertain

some guys think you are gay - which again is untrue - hey I get them onto the mat for a fight training session and they usually change their minds real quick (again of course another stereotype as gay men can learn fight skills just as well as straight men!)

in the long term I hope the other aspects of my part time work will become enough to support me - not because exotic dancing is wrong but because it cuts into my dating time!!!

If you're stripping, then any relationship that you get into will not be a geniune one. Your mate will assume that you're doing more than stripping and he's going to be doing his own thing on the side. As far as your family is concerned, it all depends on how they view your profession. I have a cousin that's a stripper and I liesten to her complain about her boyfriends cheating on her. We're cool with her profession. What she does has nothig to do with me.

Yeah it might cause problems with his family. But usually this doesn't bother too many men unless he is a very jealous guy and don't understand that this is a job for you and not a pleasure trip.

Yes, it does. The trust factor almost always comes into question, and where there is no trust, the relationship dies.
