Can anybody please help me fix this problem? I think it happened like this because I accidently kicked the off button. Has this ever happaned to you? I can log onto my other accounts but just not the one I was on when I kicked the off button. Please help me. All of my really important projects are on that account! I will be ever so happy if someone would give me instructions on how to get the Icons and Taskbar back.

Thank You for taking your time and reading this.

I don't have a Start button. Its all gone except the background. The only thing I can access is the task manager.

Try to right click on the desktop. If you can, good!
Go to desktop/background options, go to customize and be sure to click on the icons.

If you can't, boot up into safe mode (press F8 during boot up and select safe mode). Then log in. Everything should be there, so backup your files and install a new account.

This behavior can occur if the Windows settings for a particular user account are corrupted.

Good luck with the source link I give you.
