I would sooner eat a great meal in a hole in the wall. At least you know you will be getting enough food to fill a plate and your belly.

I went to a fancy smancy restaurant once, was dished up this apalling meal which was covered in what looked like chip pan oil, and was then charged a fortune. We left the restaurant and walked a few hundred yards and enjoyed a well cooked, totally filling kebab!

Hole in the wall, without a doubt. Hole in the wall places usual have a certain atmosphere that you can't put your finger on but enjoy anyway.
There's not much worse than a mediocre meal in a pricy restaurant. Impress me with the food not the snooty, well dressed staff.

Hole in the wall all the way! Besides, even if the food is mediocre the atmosphere is usually more fun and relaxed.

Depends on my mood. If I'm in a not-so-good mood, I rather go to some fancy restaurant as I always feel better afterwards.

Depends..If its with my friends I would chose the hole in the wall anyday, but if its with my date or family I would chose the fancy restaurant with so-so food. :)
