I was in the same situation with my son not too long ago. We took him off formula at 10 months, and took the bottle away on his 1st birthday. A lot of the problem is that they are drinking when they are in an inclined position. The best thing that we could have done was take the bottle away, and have him drink out of a cup. We did not have any problems after that.

my son was bron with acid reflux. we didn't find ou tuntil he was 2 weeks old. my pedi put him on liquid zantac. talk to your pedi about it. my son is now 8 months and since the zantac we have had no probs. seriously i know what you are going through...talk to you pedi about it. they should help. acid reflux can cause damage to the throat and lining in the throat. you should get it checked out and put your son on some preventive meds soon.

My motto with milk is when in doubt, go to soy. It's a lot healthier and lactose free so it's great.

Here is one site: http://heartburn.about.com/cs/childrenwithgerd/a/reflux_infants.htm
A lot of information is for adults so is not so relevant to your son. It seems that it's not abnormal in infants and usually passes in time.
