Confusion. They fear kids will be confused that they have two mommies and all the other kids have a Mommy and Daddy. There are many reasons, all are prejudice, but this is the most relevant one.

There are so many unwanted children in this country. Why can't we make it legal for gays and lesbians to have civil unions (this will end the battle over the sanctity of Marriage) giving them the same rights as married people; an then promote adoption of these unloved children by that community?

Wouldn't it be better to have these children cared for by two loving adults rather than being pushed around in foster care?
Do you know how these foster children suffer? We have a solution and we are not taking advantage of this untapped population. It's the archaic thinkers who are getting in the way.

most think of homosexuality as a disease, that if the parents are gay the child would grow to thinking that the way there parents are is the way they're supposed to be, this, of course, has been proven errelivant. homosexuality is not a choice, it is something people are born with and no matter what a parent does differantly, the child will divelop whatever sexuality intreegs them, but alass, no matter what happens the homosexual community will always be forshadowed by the steriotypes of the communist bastards that teach right from wrong. the world will never obtain true peace until every denomination excepts EVERYONE for who they. embrassing the little differances will bring our country together.

I know one reason is because they don't like gay people for one, and also because they think that if a gay person was a child's parent, then the child would turn out to be gay because of the parent. Of course, this is not true, but it's what they say.

Because people think a male and a female are necessary for providing the necessary balance of masculine and feminine qualities for a well rounded child, when in truth, many parents divorce or spend their entire time working. Having two people, regardless of sex, committed to a child is really saying something with today's fast-paced and business-orienteted society.

For many reasons. one being theyre homophobic. or they could be insecure about their own parenting AND theyre own sexuality. which might lead back to homophobia. and with alot of people, they feel what their beliefs are the "onloy way to think". which of course is absolotuly obsurd. if the world revolved around the exact same beliefs, the world wouldnt be interesting, and having people from differnent backgrounds and being raised from different persepctives makes the world so much more interesting. basically, people should just accept it and embrace the worlds differences.

The only objection I've heard to gay parenting that wasn't rooted in animus was that having gay parents may put a child's life at risk of becoming victim to anti-gay persecution and violence, etc. (I don't personally buy into it, though.)

because they've closed their minds to the option of same sex partners having children.... id agree to that statement if it were 1950 but its 2006 and there are alot more gays and lesbians adopting.... its probably the time era of when they grew up, they were taught it was wrong, so therefore they will pass on to their own children it is wrong, when really it is not

oooo so let me get this right....a single str8 mum can raise children by herself , and a single str8 dad can do the same but 2 gay partners cant because....? people are affraid that kids will get confused but wont they get confused anyway if they only have one parent ....wont they still be asking where's mumy/daddy??
yea i guess the main reason would be that the world is concerned the kids will end up being gay....
