My son recently claimed I have a double standard, because I laugh at Republican jokes, but not at Democrat jokes. I explained to him that I will laugh at the funny ones, but they are rare, because of an inherent difference between Republican and Democratic humor. Perhaps an example can best explain it.
A teacher was explaining the two party system to her students, and little Tommy raised his hand to say he plans to be a Democrat.
"Why is that?" asked the teacher.
"Well," he replied, "My father was a Democrat , and my grandfather was a Democrat, and my great grandfather was a Democrat."
Wanting the child to think for himself, she prodded: "What if your father, and your grandfather, and your great grandfather had all been thieves?"
Quickly Tommy responded, "Then I'd be a Republican."

Funny. I heard one today too-
Two kids were fishing in a stream. W was crossing over on a bridge, when he tripped, hit his head, and fell into the water unconscious.
The kids pulled him out, and when he came to, he thanked them profusely for saving his life. He told them he would grant each of them one wish.
The first kid wanted to go to Disney, and W agreed to take him himself in the Air Force One.
The second kid asked for an electronic wheelchair, equipped with a DVD player, MP3, and Playstation.
"What for?" W asked. "You aren't crippled."
"Yeah, well I will be when I go home and tell my daddy I saved your dumb *ss from drowning," he answered.
Surprise, surprise, the one Neocon I work with didn't find this funny.

If your point is that Democrats are jokes you would be correct! But they are by no means humorous! Wilson “gave” America W.W.1, the Federal Reserve, and the start to personal income taxes. F.D.R. “gave” America W.W.2, established personal income taxes, and a large push down the socialist slide. Carter “gave” away the canal, and American integrity, Gave America the worst economy since the Great Depression. And what jokes can be garnered at the expense of the Clinton administration? The only Speaker of the House (also a dem) imprisoned for crimes in office, and the first elected president impeached for perjury in the history of the Republic.
I understand your dilemma, liberal, socialist; democrats are a threat to our republic and are indeed no laughing matter.

That's a great joke. If only for the presence of Al Franken, it is no longer true that Liberals aren't funny. But it was that way. Humor is the key to Rush Limbaugh's success, something that Liberals have long realized and have been trying to replicate. As to what Democrats think, I have no general answer. But taking my own Senators (Byrd and Rockefeller): these are not funny guys. However, the other night Letterman did a series of highlights of the career of Robert C. Byrd that was....well, suffice it to say that I had to go to the hospital to get stitches for my belly.

In Texas there is the "Yaller Dawg Democrat"--someone who'd vote for an old, yaller dawg--if it was running on the Democratic ticket--before they'd vote for a Republican.
Yes, my mom&dad and grandparents were Democrats. Me, too.

Great joke, and it is true. Some will overlook the Grant administration. But how can you overlook the Nixon, Reagan, and both Bush administrations?
