Who is Jimmy Buffett?
Jimmy Buffett has been recording music, writing books and entertaining us since the early 1970’s. You may recall his most famous tune, Margaritaville; but like the Parrot Head phlock, Buffett is more than that. He describes a lifestyle as a state of mind; it’s a place we can go (if only in our minds sometimes) where the sea water is warm, the trade winds blow, and the only worry is whether the CD player will accommodate all of Buffett’s 30+ recordings and that the ice in our Boat Drink doesn’t melt too fast. Relax and enjoy the ride. To learn more about him, go to www.buffettnews.com or www.margaritaville.com.

Jimmy Buffett (born James William Buffett on December 25, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi) is a singer, songwriter, and recently a film producer best known for his "island escapism" lifestyle and music including hits such as "Margaritaville" (No. 234 on the list of 'Songs of the Century'), and "Come Monday." He has a devoted base of fans known as "Parrotheads".

His music and attitude are centered around a very easy-going lifestyle. Tropical regions are Mr. Buffett's favorite; any place with a port (he loves boating) and a liquor store (a devoted fan of frozen cocktails, such as margaritas and daquiris) and that doesn't dip below 75 degrees is a place for Jimmy; and an ideal that his fans adore.

His album, "Songs You Know By Heart," is a compilation of his most popular songs, and is an excellent primer for anyone interested in learning more about his music.
