OK OK OK I GOT IT
You are John Lovitz doing the liar! Am I right, HUH? Am I?
You get your car to hit 106 at the 990 ft mark? In a 1998 Cav Z24?
Yeah, that's the ticket! And I've seen Morgan Fairchild naked, because ummm she's my WIFE! Yeah, yeah, I married her and we have, um...um...um.. SEXUAL RELATIONS!
I am glad to see that you know how to get that little car to accelerate so hard! You should take it to the Milford, MI. GM proving grounds and show them what you can do. They will be amazed at your mystical powers of time dialation.
If only the new Z-06 could keep up!
YOU ARE MY NEW HERO!

It's limited by the computer settings. Basically, GM doesn't think it's save to operate that deathtrap any faster. Also, the factory tires are not up to higher speeds. I've never seen a stock Cavalier that will hit 106 in the quarter so you really don't need an override anyway. If you want to change it, you're going to need to get it chipped.

You people are kinda dumb if you don't think a cav will go 100. The things are light and aerodynamic. Hell, a Geo will go 90, so something not a lot heavier and with double or tripple the power will easily jump the big century mark. I'd say that a Z24 should probably be able to go 125 if you disable the fuel shut off.

Don't worry about the speed limiter on your car at the drags, there is no way that car will get to 106 MPH in a quarter mile.

My 97 cavalier does 180km before the fuel kicks out and it doesn't shut off its a 5 speed standard and only has cool air intake and i can run the quarter in 10.36 seconds Fla that's launching in second to reduce tire spin

idiots a cav can go over 100mph. My 1989 cav could do 115mph stock... You might want to get a digital speedo so you know exactly how fast you are going before it shuts off then from there you can either have it set at a higher speed (if you feel you can go well over that top speed every race) or get it turned off all together(only problem there is well here anyway if it is turned off it will not pass safety and emissions)

Haha i want to see someone try to go over 100mph in a cavalier. If you seriously are getting that fast in a cavalier im guessing it is somewhat modified, but then i think you would have been smart enough to know U NEED A CHIP/PROGRAMMER. But seriously i mean in our firebird we can go 140+ but hey, thats a firebird. I wouldnt actually try doing that in a Cavalier unless you have some series mods on it.

i honestly didnt know a cavalier could go over a hundred but i would suggest you never do it in that car again as for making it go faster i would say you should sell it and buy a camaro i have one and have no trouble going faster than 106
