If you are in the USA you have to be 14 (and even then you need a parent's / guardian's permition ... a work per-mit)
Although, I have heard that a 2nd grader started their own biz by selling science kits over the internet. That got all over the news, it was the little boy's idea and is his own biz, and that is legal in the USA. So if you want to do that, just be creative... and don't be afraid to ask for help. And don't buy into the nonsense that ALL businesses need tons of $$$ to start. Come on it was a 2nd grader, what money did he have to start with?!? A child's allowence that's what LOL. So anyone can do it.
Ok yeah, you could do a paper rout...
my BF sold candy at his school when he was little, he said he made a killin' (wish he would of kept that money all these years LOL)
(P.S. ignore the illigal worker comment made by a previous person, it's bad not only that it may hurt you... getting paid under the table means you are more easyly exploitable. So be forwarnd)
Good luck.
::: Peace :::

Thomas, depending on where you live, you may or may not be able to get a job at a business. Ask your school for more information on that, because even if you can, there is probably some paperwork to fill out and your hours will be limited to a certain number. Your best bet (if you live in the right area) would be to mow lawns, walk dogs for those who can't walk their pets, or (ONLY if you have the patience) babysit. Be creative about it, there are lots of things out there that people might be willing to pay you to do for them once a week or so.

Yes, if you have a family member that has there own business. If you live in a certain type of neighborhood.Start your own business, like babysitting or cleaning people's houses or house sit. You can even do little jobs for people who are too busy to do it themselves. That's what i do, I've been doing it for 3 years, I'm 15 about to turn 16 now, so I've been doing it since I was 12. I make like $200 a week, depending on how many people need something done.

At 13 there should be lots of things you can do.... babysit, water someone's houseplants while they're out of town, feed the neighbor's cats when they go on vacation, mow lawns, shovel snow....
The jobs won't come to you, though. You have to be creative, and look. And don't be shy.
Probably you won't be able to get a regular job until you 16 unless you get into a program of some kind. (Depends on where you are.) Check with your school- the counselors should know about that kind of thing. It never hurts to ask.

The only jobs you can get that will give you an actual paycheck are delivering papers or shoppers. Other than that most states require that you be 14 and have a work permit signed by your parents to work. You could always put an ad in the paper or local shopper and ask to watch pets for people that go on vacation or help do odd jobs. Sometimes older people need someone to go to the store for them. Ask in your neighborhood. You could also put up a flyer in the local grocery store or library!

Different states have different laws regarding your question. I believe some "farm" states allow much younger age people to be employed but with some extra stipulations as to how it would affect their schooling. There are usually elderly people who would not only enjoy the occasional and maybe brief contact
with a :YOUNGTSER" but would have many little chores you could do out of the kindess of your heart. They may then try to compensate you with a little money or some thing they have and want to pass on or better yet, they could probably provide you with stories and wisdom you would never get working a Mickey D's!! Now remember........anytime you deal with strangers....
always take precautions; run it by your folks or a teacher....you know the rote. Our seniors are a forgotten group with SO very much to give. You have your whole life, they are near the end of theirs and if nothing else, you could always remember that you made someones last years a little richer!!!
Hey! sorry to ramble and thanx for the listen!
good luck honey.
(NO I'm not quite a senior yet-just aware of where we are lacking.)

If you are a responsible individual, you might want to look into babysitting, yard work, or any miscellaneous job for anyone in the area. If you are from the country, you might want to look into detasseling corn or maybe working on a nearby farm. There are plenty of odd jobs out there for young teens to make a little side cash.

maybe doing something like a side job with someone you know like if you know someone who paints houses you could ask them could you help or babysitting , you could cut peoples yards and make some extra cash or open a car wash, rake yards stuff like that and you really could make some money that way!but as far as a legal job i think you have to be 16
but hey until then go do some creative jobs. i know a guy that in one summer made alot of money cutting yards and actually built up a whole list of customers he worked for
i hope this helps you

yes and no. Officially you can't but Uncle Sam can't stop you from making a buck doing things like mowing yards and raking leaves for the neighbors. also, if you know anyone who owns a business ask if they could use an extra hand. Anything illegal workers can do, you can do too because all the same principles apply.
