Two of my favorites are :"Evergreen" It talks about love was always there, what it is now, and what it will be. The Hollies "The Air that I Breathe" no cigarrettes, no lights, no sounds,no books to read...The author needs nothing but air and to love.

You all have to listen to more 70's Soul. The best love songs have always been done by R & B artists. Check out Philip Bailey's vocals on Earth, Wind & Fire's "Reasons". The song speaks for itself.

Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass, and Jeffrey Osbourne all break it down like no others. And if you have an aversion to black artists (it looks as if most of the people who are answering this one are country and rock fans, most of whom are not ethnic), then you need to listen to old blue-eyed soul himself, Darryl Hall of Hall & Oates and "Sara Smile".

I would have to choose the song I walked down the aisle to in my wedding: "At Last" by Etta James. I picked it then because I think it does an amazing job of capturing that feeling you have in that moment when you realize that you really are with 'the one'. It's like, FINALLY! Now I can just relax and be happy!

p.s. Evergreen was my second pick...good choice!

I would have to say "Love Of A Lifetime" by Firehouse. The big hair bands of the 80's had the love ballad all figured out.

HOLDING OUT FOR YOU BY SHEDAISY

that has to be the best she is talking about a husband who is dead and she is still holding out for him expecting him to be there when she walks through the door if you have never heard it you should listen to it it is very sad. i choose this one because it reminds me of all the people who had to deal with there lover dying unexpectably after 911 and in the war and every day in general

One Boy, One Girl by Collin Raye. It sums up my husband and me perfectly....except for the twins part. Here's the lyrics:

He finally gave in to his friend's girlfriend
When she said there's this one you should meet
At a crowded restaurant way cross town
He waited impatiently
She walked in, their eyes met, and they both stared
And right there and then, everyone else disappeared

But one boy, one girl - two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly, it was love at first sight
He smiled, she smiled - they knew right away
This was the day they'd waited for all their lives
For a moment the whole world
Revolved around one boy - and one girl

In no time at all they were standing there
In the front of a little church
Among their friends and family
Repeating those sacred words
Preacher said: "son, kiss your bride," and he raised her vail
Like the night they met, time just stood still

For one boy, one girl - two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly, it was love at first sight
He smiled, she smiled - they knew right away
This was the day they'd waited for all their lives
For a moment the whole world
Revolved around one boy - and one girl

He was holding her hand when the doctor looked up and grinned
Congratulations, twins

One boy, one girl - two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly, it was love at first sight
He smiled, she smiled - they knew right away
This was the day they'd waited for all their lives
For a moment the whole world
Revolved around one boy - and one girl

SUBLIME LYRICS

"Saw Red"

[with Gwen Stefani]
[Gwen]
Every day I love him a little bit more,
a little bit more, a little bit more.
Every day I love him just a little bit more,
and he loves me the same.
[Brad]
Every day I love her a little bit more,
a little bit more, a little bit more,
Every day I love her just a little bit more,
and she loves me the same.
[both]
Baby if ya wanna get on, baby if ya wanna get off.
It makes no sense at all, I saw red. I saw red. I saw red.
One more secret lover that I shot dead.
[Brad]
Every day I wake up, just a little bit more,
feelin' like a dog in the yard because it's just how we are.
[Gwen]
And every day I wonder if it's over,
when I wake up I realize no it isn't, and break down the wall.
[Brad]
You say it's black but I just can't believe you.
[Gwen]
And if I say it's white say I'm just trying to deceive you.
[Brad]
And baby, I'm aware of the high and the low,
and I'll be waiting for you in the middle, but I just lack control.
[both]
Baby if ya wanna get low, baby if ya wanna get high.
It makes no sense at all, I saw red. I saw red.
One more secret lover that I shot dead.
[Brad]
Girls don't go crazy, girls don't go crazy, oh girls don't crazy when the men use you.
[Gwen]
Women hold your men tight, if it makes you feel all right,
It's your own life.
