The best fares currently offered by US Airways, Northwest and Continental. But I recommend you check directly with the following airlines:

Air-India (AI)
British Airways (BA)
Egyptair (MS)
Emirates (EK)
KLM-Royal Dutch Airlines (KL)
Pakistan International Airlines (PK)
Saudi Arabian Airlines (SV)
SN Brussels Airlines (SN)
South African Airways (SA)
SWISS (LX)

The best time to start looking for flights is in the 6 to 8 week period before you're ready to fly. Check all the airlines that fly there and all the online travel services like orbitz, etc. You can often save by booking the hotel with the flight.

Best way to search is to go through orbitz.com. This way you can search for multiple airliners at once and compare prices. My recommendation would be to continually check EMIRATES (emirates.com) for airfare - my sister came to Nairobi for $1040 in February '06, which seems to be a great deal. Plus, you get to go through Dubai, which can be quite fun. Hope it works out!

Please please PLEASE make sure as you plan your trip to go with a responsible, legitimate Safari company. I suggest Dorobo Safaris based in Arusha, Tanzania. It may not be Kenya but they are environmental geniuses (I spent two weeks with them) and they completely and honestly respect the environments they travel through as well as the peoples who live on that land. Please look into them on google, Thad Peterson is a freaking genius!!!!!!! As far as airlines go look into KLM it's fairly cheap and you get a 12 hour layover in amsterdam if that's your thing!
