Most poor neighborhood will have trashy yards.. If they are poor because they can't hold down a job,,,then why shouldn't they have the time to pick up there yard? It doesn't take 1 dime to clean your yard, and use some of that junk to make a fence in the back yard to hide the trash.. or make a burn pile and burn it? I don't understand why,,,,,?? They have the time! I am not being rude, or mean spirited,, i am really curious what your feedback is on this subject.
Please give logical answers.

It's a reflection of their work ethic. The media likes to portray the poor as oppressed victims of society. They're born into poverty, and they're destined to stay there. I don't buy it. I think that, though some poor people may not be able to "help it", most of the poor are really victims of their own laziness.

Could you be more specific about the "look" you would feel is acceptable ? It is simply not true that the Sunset garden look is available at no cost. First, the city charges for water, and then charges for sewer based on water use (as if all the water had gone into the system and not onto the front lawn). Tools are not free: a shovel, a rake, a hoe, trowels, hoses etc; which of these is more important to you than food for your child ? A lawnmower is somewhat of an investment, but will need to be replaced in ten years or so.It is illegal to burn any thing at home. Fences of junk materials are not allowed; cities are quite specific about that. The police, in my town at least, say anyone can keep two nonoperating vehicles in their back yard, so long as they are not visible from the street. That isn't good enough for the zoners, the city burros added a regulation that backyard cars must be surrounded by a separate fence in an area no larger than a two car garage, 400 sq ft. No matter that the entire yard is not visible except to trespassers. They also gave any city official accompanying or acting as a zoning compliance inspector the right to trespass. People that sell eight year old cars are not usually in a position to take in trade a twenty year old car. Years of sweat and tears create a psychological investment that exceeds the street value. Human motivation is not a simple topic.

Cars are left with the intentions of repairing them or using the parts for something else. Trash left is just nasty people to lazy to clean it up. Either way it brings down the value of the neighborhood.

or the house is being rented out to a bunch of young people who are more into parties than cleaning up. They don't really own the place and doesn't have the understanding of land value and appreciation.

I think it's about class. Not class like upper or middle, but class like classy. Certain people just don't care. It pissed me off. I often see people littering as they walk down the street, and, I hate to say it, as I'm not racist, but they're usually poor Mexicans. It REALLY PISSES ME OFF. I guess it's a cultural thing about what's acceptable behavior or not.

Because people do not care. They have no ethical sense of how their yards or neighborhoods look.

It could be a number of things. The person might be too sick, too tired, too lazy, too disorganized, or too distracted. It's the sort of thing where you almost have to be in the situation to truly understand it.
