Why aren't you at the doctors or the hospital already?? At 8 months you should't take any chances.

If you are unable to get him seen by a doctor, just give him plenty of fluids, preferably cooled boiled water, and allow it to work it's way out of the system. If he develops a high fever, remove all his clothing and bath him in tepid water. Do not cuddle him too much as this could aid the temperature. Place a light cotton sheet on him with a window open so he can get some fresh air, but keep the room moderately warm so he doesn't catch a chill.
Give him a child medicine like calpol or nurofen for bablies to reduce temperature, but I wouldn't recommend any drug unless advised by a qualified doctor.

Take him to the doctor because the doctor can tell you what it is and what you can do for it. I wouldn't take a risk with a 8 month old baby unless you are a doctor or a nurse. Please take your son in and find out what you can do for him. He is just miserable with out anything for his stomach virus.

You should consult your pediatrician but generally it's recommended to give plenty of clear liquids such as water, apple juice, or pedialyte. It's important to keep a child hydrated especially if the child has diarrhea and/or vomiting. You can also give them popsicles or jello. You really should take your child to a doctor however and follow the doctor's instructions.

get him to the Dr. but mean while, don't give him any thing that contains dairy. anything with dairy can curdle upset his stomach even more and make him vomit. make sure you keep lots and lots of Pedialyte in him to keep him hydrated. regardless of what others say dont give him water, this will wash out his system and wash away the nutrients of the formula or breast mild and food that you feed him, and once again call your Dr for an appt.

See if there is an ask-a-nurse at your local hospital that you can call. This service is free where I live. Since there is always new information, you should check with a medical professional, you could even ask the pharmacist at your local drugstore for advice. Random answers here could actually harm your child. You need professional advice in this case.

you should get your baby to a doctor right away do not waste time babies can get dehydrated in the blink of an eye, yes pedialite is a good thing but you should take the baby to the doctor first, then give pedialite if ok'ed by dr, pedialite is electrolytes which helps dehydration, but it could be something more serious so my advice is TAKE THE BABY TO THE DOCTOR.

pedialite is really good for that, you can get it at the grocery store or the drug store. It has alot of nutrients in it. No milk or juice, they both will make things worse. Maybe a little bit of gatorade, not alot because of the sodium, even kool aid. They really need all the liquids you
can get down them.

The best bet would be to call your pediatrician. Each pediatrician usually has their own specific regime that they want you to follow when your child is ill. However, it is essential to keep your baby hydrated and pedialyte is recommended by most pediatricians for that issue.

TAKE THE BABY TO THE DOC! That can be a very dangerous situation, especially if he's not holding his food down.
