Why are the Jews targeted for racism?

Question

This is one thing that I don't quite understand. The Jews are smart people who have high achievements, wealthy and had significant influence in many countries' economies throughout history. They have proportionally far more Nobel Prize Laureates than any other people, including the one and only Einstein.

If it is because of skin color or appearance, I don't see how they differ much from Italians or Greeks etc.

Can somone who knows more about history or religions please explain?

Its because, i think, the Jews have always gone against the grain.

Look, in Ancient Eygpt ALL were required to worship the Gods, but the Jews had only ONE God. As you can imaigne this did not go over well with the pharaohs, because the Gods empowered the pharaohs and if there were factions among their people than how were they suppose to rule?

The jews have always been the scapegoats of ancient and even modern societies.

The jews cuxicfied the christians savior, (so that didnt go over so well, with the Church) and in the Middle Ages when the catholic church was at its pincle of power, the Jews were declared outcasts by the Catholic Church

Than we have the one eveyone knows, with Hitler and the mass genocide, i dont need to get into that, becuase eveyone knows about that. But Hitler hated the Jews, because they were different

I dont know why you would mention Greeks (orthodox christians) and Italians (catholic christians) being not much different from Jewish people (judiasm) --perhaps you meant in appearance and not religion? In that case Jews arent' 'different' from any other people on the planet. They come in all shapes and colors, blond and brunette. Listen: as a race they were kicked out of their land and had to wander in other countries and were seen as foreigners. Im a Greek in Greece and we have a growing jewish community (like everywhere else in Europe and the West) but in the 1940s the Nazis swept all of Europe with their garbage invading the other countries and rounding up the Jews saying they were responsible for economic ills. They werent --they were an easy target because they were a minority without their own country. I have Jewish friends -- a decent hard working group of people --thank God for my Jewish dentist --no seriously they were signaled out much like the new kid in school usually is --for being different--remember Coumbine high school. What do you think that was about? People are the same everywhere there is no 'secret' difference among the races --only aliens from other worlds would have real differences. We as a species have to learn to live with each other or we aint gonna make it kiddies!

You're right about that, Kittykat, but why have jews been such successful merchants and bankers? It was mainly because of laws excluding them from owning land. They could not farm, so they became artisans or merchants. Their appearence as such is seldom very different from the appearance of the other people in the countries they inhabit - in parts of Africa you'll find black Jews, in Europe you'll find blond ones. I believe they have been hated for that reason - for not being different enough, and even so believing themselves Gods chosen people. Remember the yellow star that all Jews must wear under the nazis - wouldn't have been necessary if a Jew was easily distinguished by his/her looks. Looking like the rest, and insisting on staying apart from the rest regarding religion and culture, did the mischief. Well assisted by greed and envy and lust for power and the wish of humans to feel superior to someone. The crucifixion was an excuse more than a reason - had Christ not been crucified, there would have been no christianity, logically.

The Jews have been through a lot actually. They were almost brought to existence from the German and Hitler. They were always mentioned in the biblical times and they are smart and have high achievements. The Holocuast was and is the reason why Jews are targeted for racism.

The reason is because jews are successful. Thoes who thrive are hated throughout history and we even see it today. Many around the world hate the united states for the same reason. Sure they will try to say it is for a different reason but when they try to explain the reasons for hatred they are most of the time fabrications to perpetuate more hatred.

Actually the Romans crucified Christ but the Jews didn't request him to be released and instead released a murderer. They are targeted by a lot of Christians because in the Middle Ages it was illegal for Christians to loan money and earn interest, but Jews could and they made huge profits, non of which went to the Catholic Church, of course.

These are all lovely answers but the plain simple truth is greed ... throughout history the Jewish culture has been the traditional merchants and moneylenders, and have been far more successful at it that any other mass group .... number one people tend to distrust what they don't understand (i.e. math, economics, etc.) and number two, envy for those talents and wealth. Plain simple greed.

People don't like people who are different than them.
It's all of that. It's because of skin color and it's just plain arrogance. Ever nation on Earth that has been mated with a minority always start's this superiority-inferior crap.
