I'll give you the advice that was given to me when I was in your shoes. Pound the pavement. Complete applications at a variety of places. Then once a week or every 2 weeks place a call to each of these places. Tell them your name, that you've filed an application and are wondering if they have any openings. They may get tired of you calling and tell you "Don't call us, we'll call you," or you'll get a job. It worked for me. Once I got it through my thick 18 year old head. I was hired at the local hospital working in Central Supply.
Don't forget to go to our local Employment Office. Depending on where you live there may be for-profit employment companies that charge a fee (often paid by the employer who hires you) for their services. Scour the newspaper every day.
Consider going to college. If not full-time, then part-time. You may be eligible for financial aid. The more education you have the more valuable you'll be as an employee.
God Bless!

it took me at least 6 interviews before i got the job i have now. So i know how you feel. Some of the places you have to go to are the ones that don't have any signs posted that they are hiring. They might be hiring and don't have it posted anywhere. Where i got hired didn't have anything posted in the paper or in their store. and in fact...they called me like 5 months after i handed in my application.....and i did give them a call back and everything checking up on the application.
and at some of the places i had interviews at i did have experience to do the job and they hired others.

no one wants to hire a negative employee (uxcept bill collecters).
you should be more positive. sometimes it's like being single or commited, you'll meet tons of people once you're involved and no one when you're lonely. as soon as you do find a job, two merchants near you will post a now hiring sign. there are plenty of different places and ways to get a job and you're young enough to try things out. i'm sure you can walk into any fast food place and so what, it's money right? better than nothing. you can call local contractors and work constuction, say you'll work cheap and learn trades for yourself. think highley of yourself and you'll accomplish what ever you reach for and i wish you the best of luck!

It can be very frustrating to find a job depending on where you live and what kind of jobs you're applying for. From personal experience of a friend of mine, never give up, though. Sometimes the two weeks of silence are just a preamble to being overwhelemed ith phone calls from employers asking if you're available tomorrow.

you're young. probably little to no experience? don't expect immediate results, ever. Wait for the temp agency. they should be able to get you something. temp agencys will try and get you placed somewhere since that;s how they get paid. so expect something. don't keep your hopes up. just keep applying places and don't stop until you have something good. not even interviews mean much. big rule is that all hiring managers, HR people are lazy as Sh*t. just keep moving until something genuine grabs you.

Language, attitude, skills, appearance. For example, if you lace your speech with curse words, you will minimize your chances of getting a job. Not being able to read, write, and speak grammatically correct English can affect your abilities to get a job. If you are expecting a high wage just for "showing up", you are less likely to find employment. Otherwise, it just takes time. There are college graduates who have looked for 2 years or better to find a job.

Lack of experience makes youngsters virtually useless in many settings, and not practical to train since they're likely to be non-long-term'ers.
Do not fear though, just start slow wtih something simple. Copy person, bank-teller, fast-foods, etc. Whatever you do, it's the work ethics and dealing with co-workers you'll develop, which will come in handy for the real nice jobs down the line. Also, it allows you to build credibility, and reference sources.

Be ready and dress for success, if they say you have no experience, say no one did when they were 18, smile look them in the face and ask, This is a one 18 years old who will succeed if you give me a chance.
Good Luck

Because you are young, and don't have any experience....Take heart, and keep trying. You are going to have to start small, everyone does. Try clothing stores at the mall....ice cream shops, retail stores, etc. Check out monster.com...for jobs in your area...Don't get discouraged...it'll happen.
