1. amphibians don't have AMNIOTE land egg. Reptiles do.Thus amphibians lay LOTS of eggs which have HIGH mortality rates from fungus, other organisms eating them; reptiles eggs are less vulnerable to mortality and so they lay fewer and have higher rate of hatching
2. amphibians mate with external fertilization. Reptiles have internal fertilization and mate with HEMIPENES, not penis (true penis is in mammals!)
3. slimy skin in amphibians, so they need water env, vs reptiles have heat-dessication resistant scales
4. Most nitrogenous wastes of amphibians are ammonia
reptiles have very concentrated uric acid
5. amphibians and most reptiles have 3 chambered heart, but CROCODILIANS have a partial septum in their ventricle
6. metamorphosis in amphibians, dev in egg in reptiles
7. reptilian skull much more solid-heavy than amphibians. There are more bones in reptiles (radio-ulna is ONE bone in frog, tibio-fibula is ONE bone in frog. Reptiles have the same lower leg-arm bones as us humans and are NOT fused as in amphibians. Amphibians lack ribs, reptiles with ribs.

Amphibians such as frogs and salamanders have moist skin without scales. Reptiles like snakes, lizards, and turtles have dry scaly skin. The reproductive system and life cycle of the two are also different. In amphibians, the male places sperm on the female's eggs externally. In reptiles, the male deposits sperm inside the female. Amphibians lay soft eggs in water, while reptiles lay hard eggs on land. Some reptiles even give birth to live young. Baby amphibians change from a larval stage to a mature stage -- like how tadpoles grow up to be frogs. Baby reptiles look very similar to adult reptiles.

reptiles - don't need to lay eggs near or inside a body of water, they have scales to prevent dehydration, they fertilize their eggs inside their body (they have sex dude! a real one - penis inside vagina)

amphibians - need to lay eggs near or inside water beacause they may dry out outside, have sticky musus around body and dont have scales thats why they live near water or in water, they fertilize eggs outside body! they use water current to pass sperm to egg like in frogs! (they don't have true sexual intercourse! pitty them) LOL
