Pain old borax laundry soap, buy one of the cheap ketchup squirt bottles at the dollar store, put the dry borax laundry soap in it and squirt it around baseboards, under kitchen sink, any where you see ants, leave it down for several days and when you no longer see any ants just vacuum the excess borax soap up, it is cheap and it works, I do this every spring, Have had several replies from Yahoo answers that it has worked for them too. Good Luck.

Go to your nearest source and buy two quarts of pure alcohol, and bring home a lot of patience too. Watch the ants and figure out where the central ants nest is. Drive a spade (straight ended shovel) into the colony entry and prize open a slot; pour in the alcohol.(Remove shovel). This will kill the ant hive, but evaporate before it can harm your pets or children. Lysol aerosol spray (80% alcohol) or Windex (vinegar & soap) can be used to wipe out the ant trails, or, depending on the situation, a hot soapy mop; but do that after you find the nest. Borax powder is very good against roaches. It messes up their ability to reproduce, so you see results in two or three weeks. Borax should not be exposed to small children, however.

Not boraxo soap, plain borax powder mixed with sugar. Home Depot and Lowes sell ant traps that will work within a week. The ants go in and take the poisoned bait back to their nest and the queen. It kills all of them. It may not be a good thing with small children or pets.

There is a cheap product called "Terro". Works great! The ants love it, take it back to the nest and wham! kills all of them. Or, you can use lemon juice on the area where they are coming in and people say that works. I haven't seen it work, but what they heck, it might work for you.

Mix equal amounts of icing sugar and baking soda. Punch holes in the lid of a container, put mixture in and sprinkle liberally wherever you see ants. Safe around kids and pets too!

Try vinegar. Bugs hate it. Or Lysol Cleanser with Bleach. Both work and you should be ant free in a day or two.

Avon's Skin So Soft. Spread it on your window sills and anywhere you find the ants are coming in from. It works great.

I bought ant spray last year and it seemed to work really well... but it's a little toxic, so you can't spray it around kids. But you have to spray where they're coming in from and all their trails...
Good luck!!! Ants suck!
