It was a hard foul nothing more nothing less, a Flagrant 1 at the most. Why suspend Stackhouse for such a borderline judgement call in the Finals?

remember people Stackhouse took a shot to his nose from Shaq and he has stitches in his nose from that......consistent....the NBA officials are not.

Absolutely! Shaq nearly breaks Stack's nose in game one and Stack commits a hard foul to force the worthless no foul shot making cry baby to make foul shots rather than dunk and gets suspended. The NBA is the just a bouncing rubber ball version of the WWE!

The NBA is verrrrrrrrrrrry absurrrrrrrrrdly wrong here.

First of all, Stackhouse didn't try to hurt Shaq. O'Neal had a clear shot at the basket, and, like often on a fast break, the defender had no chance to stop it but to foul. Was the foul hard? Yes. Was it Flagrant? Yes. Was it worthy of a Technical? Yes. But right after the free throw, there was a time-out (I think Dallas called it), and just before Miami took the ball out Stackhouse and O'Neal had one of those "We Cool?" moments.

The Jason Terry suspension in the Mavs-Spurs Series was at least justified since Terry had a closed fist. The Mbenga suspension during the Mavs-Suns series could be justified since Mbenga (though he hadn't dressed out for the game) is (A) a player and he did (B) enter the stands. This third suspension in the Mavericks postseason is absolutely bogus. Stackhouse just did what he could to cut off the lane. Call it a flagrant 1, award the technical, and lets move on.

Here's an interesting quote:
"My daughters tackle me harder when I come home," O'Neal said of Stackhouse's play. "I'm one of the last players of the old school, and you know, you just have to take a hard foul like that and keep on moving. It actually felt pretty good to get hit like that. Thank you, Jerry. Appreciate it."

I'm not one to buy into conspiracy theories, but a lot of the Dallas media is claiming that the fouls (especially in Games 3 and 4) have been very one-sided in favor of the Heat. With five fouls in the fourth quarter, Dwayne Wade could have fouled out several times, but was saved since the refs didn't call anything. With this suspension, the NBA certainly seems to be a bit biased. I don't know if it is a bias against the Mavs or for the Heat, but possibly for the Eastern Conference in general.

YES! The NBA looks VERY BAD in making this call. I have no idea why--and Stu Jackson gave no reason other than "the contact was excessive". Not clear, Stu...not clear at all.

Yes, the NBA looks really bad for the suspension of Stackhouse. He just was doing what he is paid to do, block shots. I agree with another persons answer, why didn't they suspend Shaq for the hit on Stackhouse. Politics, that's all there is too it.

No. Stackhouse knew the rules and deserved to be suspended. The only people that will think its bad judgment or ruling will the Dallas Fans, they might as well get over it!! Stackhouse should take responsibility for his actions and it will teach any other NBA player a lesson who decides they might want to follow in his foot steps.

No, if the NBA suspend Stackhouse it will show that they care about peoples actions. Stackhouse fouled Shaq very hard. There was no need to foul that hard and it is unacceptable to not suspend him for his actions

Is he suspended, or is that here say? I think based on what other players have been suspended for these playoffs, that Stackhouse will have at least a 1 game suspension. Whether or not it is deserving, the NBA would look bad if they didn't act accordingly and be consistent with their decisions. Cheers! =)

this is the reason the NBA is going down in rankings. because of the fact the sport is so sorry. a number of those gamers are sorry as hell. You touch somebody with the tip of your finger its a foul. this is a few cornball $hit. Shaq knock this variety of super style of individuals down and tense they by no potential stated as a flagrant foul on him. yet Jerry Stackhouse devote a tense foul yet become stated as a flagrant....... you purchased to be kidding me. Thats why i like the NBA from 1999 to the Magic/chook era. the sport become stable then. those referees are so damn stupid. i think of its some money element taking place with the NBA and refs. "Cheat for Miami". How Jerry Stackhouse get suspended for this? this is incorrect as hell. Come on. Thats why i like college basketball alot extra beneficial than the NBA. a team of SOFTIES. they might desire to cut back down on a number of those regulations and permit the sport be performed.

Shaq was not suspended for taking a piece of Stackhouses' nose' then Jerry should not be suspended for doing his job.

Stackhouse did nothing wrong. He's just too fast for his own good. Or Shaq is too slow. One of the two. The Mavs will kick the Heat's butt, anyway!
