It's all about downloading! If you want to download video files or music, dial up makes you change your mind real quick! For this, you'd better go for dsl!
If you're just surfing the web, dial up is fine.

Dial up is for the archaeic times. Step in line. Pay the extra $20 a month and get DSL or cable. Your internet experience will be much more pleasant.

Technically yes you can. But Dail-up will be soo much slower than DSL. It all depends on what you are wanting to do.

If it's just viewing webpages yes, but if you want to play a game over the internet I suggest DSL or some type of Broadband.

I have dsl at work and HAD dial up at home. I could do all the same things but it did take FOREVER to get from one site to another.

some things take so long on dial-up that you just give up before they get loaded.

Some kind of activities might not happen, such as streaming music and videos. Larger files may choke up your system and you may have to reboot.
