I have had this and if it's from dehydration, it's easy just drink water.

My problem was that I had a vitamin B12 defiency so i just took Vit. B everday and used vaseline and it healed in 3 days.

I had this problem for years. All you can do is use lip balm continuously. Don't stop using it after a week just because you think its not working. The healing process could take months. When your lips or skin crack and bleed, its because they're extremely dry. Whatever you do, DO NOT lick your lips to mosturize them. Use Carmex everyday, no matter how many times a day, As soon as you feel them cracking put the Carmex on. Because your lips are extremely dry, the healing process is going to take some time. Again, DO Not lick your lips. Since they are dry, licking them will only make things worse. You should see a change in a few months, not weeks. It worked for me.

I agree with almost everyone that has answered back. Another reason might be if you've tried every lip balm/ointment, you might be using it too much and became addicted to the lip balm. So if drinking more doesn't help, try weaning back on the lip balm.

Dry sjin or eating acidic foods like tomatoes or lemons. Even foods that have a high acidic level will do that. Even orange juice. Don't like your lips too often and keep the corners dry. Use lip balm. And make sure you blot your lip area dry after brushing your teeth. Even though lip balms may not work - you may need to check other factors. Hope this helps.

i swear it hurts a lot.....
everytime you open or even just move your lips.....oh....

the main reason behind this is DEHYDRATION......
quit all those balms and ointments.....
nature has a cure to everything....you wouldnt deny that would you???

so.....drink lots of water.....normally 10-12 glasses a day....
if you're still considering balms and ointments.....then
when you go off to sleep during night time...
you might as well use ointments.....
dont ever use balms.....they'll make your lips crisp by the time your 30-35......

work it out........

they're over chapped, and maybe you pick at them? At least one lip balm maker makes a healing lotion. Try moitening them with water, gently then patt them dry, and gently put on chap stick. Just keep using chap stick. If your lip like split and hurts once and awhile. Hold itwith two fingers so taht you see the split, put chap stick on it, then let go and put it on again.

do you tend to lick your lips a lot? Don't if you do. Try Burts Bee's line of ointments...they have a ton of stuff for your lips that works awesome.

Well, if your talking about the corner of your lips, your lips are probably really dry, or you lick them a lot
