I always try to eat carbs before a meet
Spaghetti is always good
dont eat anything that will make you gassy or will make you too full for breakfast or dinner
next time you should talk to your coach about it first

There are a lot of good things you can eat before a meet. Few however, will do little good if you haven't been eating right from the start. A very good website on swimming nutrition is usaswimming.org. Go under coaches and then nutirition

Pasta is good for dinner. for breakfast, fruit, toast, scrambled eggs. Try to avoid foods high in fat. During the meet, dried or fresh fruit, pasta, peanut butter sandwiches, or my daughter's personal favorite applies smeared with peanut butter. She ususally takes a few bites of somethinng and drinks gatorade between events.
Doesn't your coach have some thoughts on this?

I usually eat bananas because the help ease the cramps. For breakfast, try some bagels without the cream cheese. Stick to high-carb foods since you're going to need them to swim.

Uh, I'd recommend a PowerBar. Don't go overboard with them though. Drink lotsa water or Gatorade, or fruit! But don't stuff yourself. Drink a bit of Gatorade before your event(s) is/are called.
