My daughter will be one on July 15th, She cruises around everything, but has no interest in walking on her own. She is just content to plop back down and crawl.

My daughter took her first steps at 8 1/2 months old. She took a lot of spills the first few weeks. At her first birthday party she was practically running. However, all kids are different. She has friends in her playgroup that are the same age and don't walk.... one can hardly crawl. I think it depends on the baby and their surroundings. The baby that can't crawl is always carried or in a stroller so doesn't have the opportunity to move around much. But I've been told they all catch up around age two. Don't worry, she'll be walking soon enough. And then you'll have to keep an eye on her every second and you'll be missing those days when she just cruised around!

My daughter took her first step at 17 1/2 months. She was more interested in talking than walking once she could crawl and stand on her own (she could get anywhere she wanted, then stand up once she got there). This was after reaching other gross motor milestones early. Every baby is different, and since babies walk at an *average* age of 12 months, about as many *normal* babies walk after the first birthday as before.

My daughter was about 10 or 11 months and she has always walked great, but all babies are different. My brother started walking at 8 months and now he can run fast. And my nephew didn't star to walk until he was about 1 and he is now 3, but he still has trouble walking.

My son was 11 months old when he started to walk. He went straight to walking and skipped the crawling.

He crawled after he walked

Naw your no longer being overprotective espically in the international presently with maximum of those baby molesters lurking round. as long as she is familiar with to look both strategies at the same time as crossing the line, no longer to jaywalk, and to stay away from secluded unopen aspects; I see no clarification why she shouldnt walk to college, only have her carry a cellular telephone on her, that way she will telephone you at the same time as she lands on college propert to allow you to recognize she were given there competently. i'm biologoically no longer a father yet i'm like a father figure to this lady Vanessa who's 13, she would commence walking domicile from college in Grade 5; yet for sure she would question me to come back and walk her domicile (which I gladly did) and she would walk to college in Grade 6 (at the same time as the elements replaced into impressive out) consisting of her pal, and back she wanted me to comprise her to make effective that no longer some thing got here about to her. at contemporary overprotecivness is a sturdy component.

my two older kids [my son, 14 and my daughter, 6] both started walking at 10 months old. i have yet to see my third child's progress in this regard as he is only 5 months old at this point.

i wouldn't worry too much as children have different timetables for development. it's best not to compare your child[ren] with other kids as you might end up worrying needlessly, getting depressed, or feeling bad about your child's development. it can't hurt to consult your medical professional to determine if it is not caused by a medical condition.

your child is a blessing either way, no matter what she can or can't do!
