the home team supplies 12 dozen per game, now all 144 may not be used, but that's what is ready to be used at any given time. the guy that said 20 is obviously a moron, 20 balls could easily be used on 1 or 2 batters. think....homers, foul balls, scuffed or damaged balls, not to mention the simple fact that a pitcher can request a new ball at ANY TIME, regardless of the fact that the one he's holding may be brand new itself.

Probably like close to thirty. those players foul off tons of balls in every game. and when tim wakefeild is pitching 4 the sox most of the pitches are thrown to the dirt

it depends if there are foulballs if it hits the ground and if the pitcher,ump,or catcher wants a new ball.and if the players hit homers.but i would say they probably use 55 balls.
