As embaressing as it is to say, my father is a convicted child molester. He molested my sister, his step daughter, for a range of about 9 years.
Personally I think they should have their penises, fingers, toes and tongues (to prevent future encounters) chopped off with a rusty blade with no pain killers or relievers. They should have a minimal amount of antibiotics, enough so that the infection from the rust won't kill them but won't cure them fully either. The wounds will stay infected enough to hurt like hell. All the bleeding wounds should be stopped with a car lighter, again enough to stop them from dying from loss of blood, but enough to hurt like hell. Finally, they should have a stick shoved up their a-s, continuously. On top of that, I think the person who they molested should be the ones to do all this.

they should be locked in a room with the child's parents for as long as the parents wish. then the child molesters family should have to clean up the blood in the room when its all said and done.

Treatment and research can do more than punishment and hatred. Only people with mental flaws could harm innocent children. They are upright citizens when they are not in their evil quest. Naturally their childhood abuses is used as a defense instead of a base for improving them. Society needs to learn how to cope with them before other abuses occur. Putting restrictions on where they live is really irrelevant because they will go elsewhere to abuse. Vigilance of your children is much More effective than vigilante actions.

Their degree of punishment should fit their crime. Not all of their crimes are equal, even tho they are all sick. The man that raped his young daughter hundreds of times over a several year period (and got off with only probation) should be in prison for at least 20 years. A guy that "touches" a child on the bum, or sends a nasty email, or something minor like that, should not be jailed for it.
Let the punishment fit the crime.

The Druids had an interesting way of dealing with their criminals. They would put them inside a huge man -shaped structure made of tree branches and then have a party while it burned. I think that would be appropriate. Or else put them in sacks and drown them at sea.

We should hang them with a fraying rope over a pool filled with jelly fish and let them sting him/her till they die. But since our country is against cruel and unusual punishment, lock 'em up with the other rapists forever.

lock them up together so they can get it on with each other and know how it felt for that child.

Put them in Prison and never let them out. I don't think they can be reformed. I have been through it myself.
