I think the president needs to relize that everyone, minus the native americans, are immagents to the United States. Yes the gang situation is a problem, but that can be control. If people come to have a better life and more opputunities, why take those chances away from them?

5 million of our older Americans have not signed up yet for their Medicare, Part D, drug plan------because they are old and confused.
We are not going to grant them an extension.
However, 12 million illegal aliens are in our country and we are going to allow them to stay, protest, procreate, receive support monies (welfare), attend schools, avoid paying income taxes, have our teachers take 300 hours of ESL (English as a Second Language) training at our expense, etc. It just seems to me we care more for illegal immigrants than we do our own elderly people and that really bothers me. What has happend to our government? I just don't understand it. Before long they will have a vote I suppose and then they can add all those votes up and not be called "illegal" anymore. Seems to be Bush's goal.
And if someone says one more thing about taking jobs none of us want, well those were jobs our parents did to keep the rest of us here. I know illegals landscaping that make more than office workers. Tax free.

I didn't know that there was a problem. The government and corporations have been in lockstep for years allowing illegal immigrants to come to America so corporations don't have to pay them squat and they can make more money and then they can give big campaign contributions to make sure that it stays that way. Where's the problem? It's only a problem if someone's trying to get elected, like gay marriage.

I think that if Bush was quick to go to war then he should be that quick to deal with the immigration dilemma here in the united states and quit trying to fix what was never broken

I don't know, but where I live the biggest problem we're facing is labor shortages. It took us 7 months to find a crew to rebuild our fences after Katrina. Restaurants can't open because of lack of workers. Forget trying to find roofers, plumbers, sheetrock installers, laborers, etc. Lord knows where we'd be without our Mexican friends who are willing to live in tents in City Park while they rebuild our city on rock n' roll (more like Santana). My brother-in-law was quoted $22,000 to gut his office by a crew from Ohio. Luckily, he found some Hondurans who did it for $4000. Now that's capitalism to the max, baby.

We need to secure our borders first. Then we need to get everyone in America who isn't here legally and register them. We need to check them out, we need to sort out the criminals from the good. We need to get them to pay taxes and charge them a fee for breaking the law, by coming here illegally. Then get them on the path to citizenship.

Well I think people should come her legally and if they come and have not gotten the proper paper work than they are breaking the law.
