Good Question, I base my answer on how they Master or improve the sport they play in.
1. Baseball-- Babe Ruth
BGeorge Herman "Babe" Ruth was an American original, baseball's first great slugger and the most celebrated athlete of his time. The southpaw hurler debuted with the Red Sox, winning 89 games in six years while setting the World Series record for consecutive scoreless innings. "The Sultan of Swat" converted to the outfield full-time after his sale to the Yankees in 1920 and led New York to seven American League pennants and four World Series titles. He finished with 714 home runs, leading the league 12 times.
2. Basketball -- Micheal Jordan
Honors: Six-time NBA champion (1991-93, 1996-98); MVP (1988, '91, '92, '96, '98); 10-time All-NBA First Team (1987-93, 1996-98); All-NBA Second Team (1985); Defensive Player of the Year (1988); Nine-time All-Defensive First Team (1988-93, 1996-98); Rookie of the Year (1985); 14-time All-Star; All-Star MVP (1988, '96, '98); One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History ('96); Olympic gold medalist (1984, '92).
3. Johhny Unitas
the time of his retirement in 1973, Johnny Unitas, the superstar quarterback of the Baltimore Colts, held virtually every career passing record that existed in the National Football League. Since that time, some of those records have been surpassed.
One record, however, still remains and may be one of the NFL's few unbreakable records. Comparable to Joe Dimaggio's 56-game hit streak, Unitas compiled a string of 47 straight games in which he threw at least one touchdown pass.
4. Boxing ----Ali
THE SELF-proclaimed "Greatest of All Time," Ali had a pretty good idea of what he was talking about. He became the first man to win the heavyweight title three times and revolutionized the sport by introducing a style that went against many of the game's sacred teachings
5. Tennis -- Billie Jean King
Billie Jean Moffitt King began blazing through the tennis world in 1960 when she first appeared in women's rankings at No, 4. She was 17. For more than two decades she continued as a force in the game as the all-time Wimbledon champion, frequently the foremost player, a crusader in building the female professional game and a million-dollar-plus winner on the tour.
