Why do men marry women and expect them to stay the same and women marry men and try to change them?

We all change. Men try to deny it by pretending to have stability. Women try to deny it by trying to change someone else.

We should of course try to help people but we should focus mainly on changing (improving) ourselves.

Because it wasn't a true relationship to begin with. A relationship should be one regardless of marriage, and so the attempt to change the other because of it shows the relationship had no true foundation to begin with. A women should not change just because of marriage, and a man should not be expected to change, if it was a true relationship to begin with.

I think it is the nature of a woman to grow and change, think about it.......... we change our hair, clothes, shoes, nails ,makeup, and the list could go on. Men aren't as creative in this area unless they are gay. Besides they married us for who we were then thats all that matters to them, women, we like to experiment.

Dunno really, the sexes think differently. I don't know why someone would get married with the expectation that they would change the person. If they didn't feel the person was good enough to begin with then why marry them?
