Yeah! Damn that wicked freedom of speech! If you ask me, we need far fewer personal freedoms and civil rights in this country!

i don't like racist/sexist comments, but online forums are one of the few places that people can express opinions honestly now.
also, a comment being thought of as racist or sexist is really subjective and what's insulting to you might be ok for someone else. so as soon as you decide you're going to impose a ban on certain comments, you're judging everyone's comments by the same standards which never works in a worldwide forum - we all come from different cultures.
i think that some people should be a bit more considerate about what they say (but that goes for life in general rather than just a website) but i don't think that free speaking should be banned. and i bet that if Yahoo Answers tried to impose a ban on certain comments, people would stop using it which means we all lose out.
as for people making comments to incite a reply, isn't that one of the great things about this site? that you can take part in a worldwide discussion on important things from the comfort of your own home?
again, some people should be more considerate in what they say, but you can't judge everyone by your own standards of acceptable or unacceptable behaviour.
sometimes in life you just have to take the good with the bad.

Of course "raciest remarks, jokes and people should be banned" along with people that can not spell.

I agree that this site is fun but racism isn't funny!!!!
Some people go overboard just to get a reaction and 99.9% of the time, they do.
Some ask serious questions, some ask silly ones and most of the time it is hard to tell if the asker is serious or not.
If a person is reported by several people, several times, then yes, they should be kicked off - but they will just rejoin in a different name.
We just have to carry on reporting them & insulting them as often as possible - somebody has to hit a nerve sooner or later.

No i dont believe they should be banned.
I am not racist but doesnt mean I dont laugh at the jokes.
Its not offensive to talk hyperthetically, it is only offensive when dirrected at some one in specific.
Its the same as an insult, if an insult is mentioned in a joke towards the chracter its not offensive to the person hearing the joke.
They may not wish to hear that language but doest make it an insult towards the person its self and it doesnt mean that the person telling the joke feels that way about the person he is saying the joke to.
Its the same as death no one likes to laugh about friends who have died however jokes about death its self is ok

I think the majority of you ninny's who are equating the propagation of hate with free speech have your heads tucked firmly up your assholes. Free speech is a right but it is one that comes with responsibility. Anybody is free to make a statement or have an opinion but what if it is made with the sole purpose of bringing ridicule on to others. Remember, it is not O.K. to yell fire in a crowded theater if there is no fire I say ban the white trash

I deffienetly agree with you. They may think that tere fucked up little marks don't hurt anybody....but they really do. I know they always tell you that it only maters whats on the inside, and its true...but some of these people don't relise that. Even though it doesn't matter what is on the outside, the fucked up little comments still hurt. Do you know if there is anyway we can get a hold of the people who control Yahoo Answers and confornt them about the issue????

No, i agree with pornstar. Anyway freedom of speech. Some people are so boring and just love taking the fun out of things, if you haven't got a sense of humour take up knitting or join a chuch or something.

It matters is its a joke or not...if the people are serious then ban them...if there just jokin around dont take it seriously and laugh too

Yes, to the very stupid ones about sex in which everyone already knows the answers. Also I think at least 50% of the folks should use the spell checker!

Are they really any different than the women jokes or blonde jokes?Come on now,a laugh is a laugh right? :) Remarks are a diff thing altogether i guess.
