Is there a health reason or physical reason why they must stand to pee in the toilet? What would happen if you potty trained a little boy to pee sitting down? Why would it be an issue? Is it just a macho man thing spilled over from when we weren't civilized yet. This could be the end to the toilet sit issue up/down thing between men and women forever. Plus cleaning the toilet would be a lot easier. No splashes ;o)

it is more convenient - I think that is the primary reason in modern society anyway.

No, there is no reason they HAVE to. I think it's just developed from a convenience thing. You don't actually have to take your trousers down to use a urinal or urinate in a toilet standing up.

Most boys are potty trained to sit down first, and then to stand up after. My son (almost 3) usually always sits on the potty, but will ocassionally stand up if he's just seen daddy do it.

I had a boyfriend once who always sat down at home. He said he wouldn't if he was using a public restroom because men's toilets in public restrooms don't tend to be too clean (his words, not mine). He said he just preferred to sit if it was an option.

You do train little boys to sit down, then they learn to pee standing up next. *lol* you really don't have any idea what you are talking about. It's really silly for a man to pee sitting down, but he can.

Standing to pee is more sanitary than sitting down on a nasty bug infested toilet seat.
Plus guys don't have to sit. It is a fact of life.

If I sat down to pee, I'd have to lower my trousers. When I stand, all I have to do is unzip my fly. It's simply faster to stand.

its healthier to not touch a public bathroom seat less chance of catching disease plus if flows better when u can stand its one of those things that if u havent done it you wont understand it but it is really a good thing

I've cleaned plenty of public bathrooms and the nicest thing I can say is men can NOT aim. Please sit. The only alternative is the LIKE to draw on the walls.

because that's the way we're made...don't teach your son to pee like a woman unless you want him ridiculed by his peers later in life...it may be a little inconvenient for you as a mom, but he won't be a little boy forever. many of us become quite adept at hitting that big hole as we grow older...

Actually EVERYONE should stand when urinating. When you sit, the bladder does not empty entirely.
