My friend brought a good point cuz I dont like my step-mom. And, she was like dont she have 2 adopt you 1st so you can be her step-daughter. And thats a good point. Does she? Or when my Dad got re-married she automatically became my step-mom.

Hi! I am sorry about the situation you are in. I used to be a step-mom but now I am an adoptive mother. When I married my daughters dad I automatically became step-mom. I then adopted them (by the way, my husband had to adopt them with me even though he is the biological father). My name is now on the girls birth certificates as if I was the one who gave birth to them. The natural mother loses all rights- even her name on their legal birth certificates! I hope you can give your step-mom a chance. It'll be hard, I know. I was lucky, my girls were very little and I'm the only mom that they know and love. Is she mean to you or jealous of you? Are you jealous of her relationship with your dad? Please figure out why you don't like her and maybe the both of you can work it out. You are not being disloyal to your mother if you like the step. You didn't mention whether your mom is still in the picture. I assume and hope she is still alive. If not, I'm sorry. Please, for your sake give step -mom a chance. The more allies you have on your side the better. Besides, I know you must love your dad and there could be no worse heartache than seeing the two women closest to him feeling that way. See it in your heart to be happy for him. There must be something worth liking about her if your dad picked her for his wife.

Hi there I'm sorry you don't like your step mom. I'm a step mom and I have two beautiful step daughters who I love as my own. I am helping my one daughter to plan her wedding and have helped her pick out her dress.
I had one son so having two new daughters is so awesome. Your step mom doesn't have to adopt you and I really hope it works out for you.. hopefully you may grow to like her and have a good friend.

By common definition of the term, she's your step-mother when she married your father. If she went through the legal adoption process, then she would become your adoptive mother. Whether or not you like her is unfortunately beside the point, she's now part of your family for better or worse.
Suggestion: Treat her with sugary-sweet niceness ... even if it kills you. Just remember the adage, "Kill 'em with kindness."

when you dad married her, she became your step mom. if you allowed her to adopt you, i am assuming you are old enough to make this decision, you would become her daughter and she would have legal say-so just as if she were your biological mother (the one who gave birth to you). i have step parents and neither of them adopted me, but they are just that step parents.

Come on you have to have more intelligence than that. When she married him, she became your stepmother. Thats why it is called step. Depending on your age, you should try to get along with her because as long as they are married, she will be in your life.
