I know the Subarus have an aluminum engines and at certain milage they need to go to the shop for things to be redone and set on them.

Subaru engines are designed to sustain a fair bit of milage but subarus engines do start to rattle after around 160,000 km so anytime after or a bit before that is a good time, but check the car out with a good machanic before doing so - preferably a Subaru dealership as it may not need a full rebuild. I have a 2002 WRX STI and i service it every 7000 kms and i have never had any problems so just maintain your servicing and you should have no problems - subbies are the best...

There is no set time to have any subaru engine(rebored) repaired.

When the engine starts to lose compression. This is dependent on oil changes and other factors.

NEVER!! I've got 205,000 miles on mine and the only bolts taken out were to replace the timing belt. I'm looking for 300,000 miles.
